I am done with trucking. I want to expose the truth about this industry now and give new drivers, new CDL holders advice on what to watch out for and how these companies out here operate in taking advantage of everyone.

Stay away from leases PERIOD. I made $2200-$2300 a week at Walmart Transportation, and I only work 5 days a week.

@WestcoastWallyDriver then ots irrelevant from this video no? This video is talking about truck driving jobs for newbies. What job do you recommend for a newbie that can't live off of the 600 a week the Megas pay?

i started driving with pam in 15/16. was tempted to quit several times that first year. just didnt want to after all that i and my family went through for me to get to that point. that year was crazy rough. several weeks i made less than $100 on my check. got on with a local small family owned company after that first year and never looked back.
@thomaskirkpatrick40317 күн бұрын
I was there in 2011. Company driver. 2 of us in a truck. 35 cents a mile split. 17.5 cents a mile. Plus $45.00 a week out of your check to pay off the school and hotel. Doesn't sound like they've improved since I was there. Like I said before, you dodged a bullet.

What do u expect working at a company like that. Think outside the box. Try bay and bay.... There are so many companys out there that are decent. I work for a company delivering aluminum fencing and mold injection parts I love it

PAM is a starter company. You use them to get thru school and work your year off. I do not imagine much has changed since I went thru my first 18 months of trucking with them 20-22 years ago. When you bring your truck in for service, they expect you to move to another truck. They don't want you bringing a bunch of stuff and acting like you have to live in their truck. Listening to your story, I can't believe they are trying to run a Lease Program. 20 years ago, I think I started at .23 cpm.

Try Landstar as a fleet driver. 30-40% of the line haul. Run another BCOs truck while you learn the board and they can mentor you on the system. Save up and use the Landstar discount to get into a Lone Mountain truck or buy your own. My 2 cents

Been with the company for over a year as a company driver and not at no .31 cents a mile. I make alil under half of what you were offered initially. But yes sometimes you go on missions to find an empty, yes if you don't have a pre plan it might take awhile for them to situate one just for you. But overall I've never experienced no real issues. My 1st truck was a 21 Pete with 210k and it was spotless inside. Flares slightly bent but, lol i added to that my 1st 3mos. But even when I switched trucks to a newer one, it had zero damage. The previous driver was a smoker so they gave me a couple hundred for supplies to get the smell out. I guess they treat Owners Ops differently than company drivers. Shouldn't give up though, you might fair better at a smaller business.

Well right down 440 to I 40 is maverick its a flatbed company that will treat you waaaaaaay better from hotel to food recommendations
@thomaskirkpatrick40317 күн бұрын
To me, it sounds like the company is hoping you get so fed up. You either walk away or pay for the repairs on THEIR equipment. Then fight forever to get your money back. Or lease a new truck?
@charlesphillips192810 күн бұрын
Well my Army brother if by some chance you might be interested, I work for a company that pays by the hour on driving and on duty time. I will say this that they don't have owner operators here but when the freight gets heavy they do bring them in from outside. Now for you living close or in Atlanta they would love you if you wanted to be a company driver. I live in North Carolina myself and get home weekends.

PAM is owned by Maroons, who is contacted to the mafia. They also own central transport and many other trucking companies. This is what was created when you let these companies buy up all these small carriers but never change the names. Transportation is a scam unless you know certain ppl.
@truckerdamnyankee7 күн бұрын
Idk why anyone does lease "purchase", I never met a single person who ever ended up owning the truck. It's a scam, you seem like an intelligent man, why I'm the world? And PAM of all the carriers out there!?

@truckingwithcliff5 күн бұрын
Another reason why you never lease a truck that the carrier owns, if you have the financing ability go buy one then lease to a reputable career that way you don't need permission and you are in control of your own business. Trucks are dirt cheap right now

If you are interested in leasing, send me a message. Not leasing from me. I have been with the company a little over four years and leasing a little over 3 1/2 with them pretty good as far as companies go, but I will give you the straight scoop.

" it's December, I'm not going to New York". Man, you don't need to lease anything. Just go get a decent job at a small carrier. There are no good leases. Those who survive live in their trucks and go where nobody wants to and grind.

@barrypowers9563 i call bull. Your not allowed to touch your phone. And driver facing cameras are the death of a trucker. Any accident is now always your fault. The cameras are bad. Don't work for a company that has them

Glad to see you are done with trucking, anyone dumb enough to lease a truck should not be in trucking. Stay company and save money and buy your own truck. Im an owner operator with 5 trucks in 15 years of driving. Take my comment however you want too no sweat off my chest.
