It probably says a lot about how much Paul Jackman has corrupted my mind when I think that the shot after 4:54 should have been of you pouring soda all over your face and letting it gratuitously drip everywhere... Anyway, great upgrades!

came here to suggest CO2 capsules. could totally size this down if you used the small capsules. I think the larger ones would give you more run time. (all providing that you use a regulator tho. pretty sure the small ones are pressurised to ~800psi)

@dmitrymarukh68574 жыл бұрын
It is not engineered over enough by a long shot. What you need to do is to make bottle retainer move freely, pulled down by weak spring. Then add pneumatic lock that activates when you press the trigger but before the actual opener action. The lock will stop bottle retainer from movement until the trigger released. This way ANY bottle can be opened without adjustments.

Referring to this as "over-engineered" reminds me of a toilet paper holder we had to build in a college engineering course. The base was c-section steel, and the sides and roller were aluminum. The finished item probably weighed close to 5 lbs. We referred to it as a combination toilet paper holder / boat anchor.

I like seeing someone just go make stuff. Why not use a Schrader valve to fill the tank? It’s more compact than the check valve and coupler and you wouldn’t have to modify the compressor

You have *_GOT_* to make a better bench for that vise! If the bench wobbles like that when you're hammering on something in the vise, that is a lot of wasted motion and energy. If made with wood, I would recommend using posts no smaller than 4/4's, or something with a similar cross sectional area. And you need to put in some kind of cross bracing as well. Sure, this sounds like overkill from a load bearing perspective. It is, but it is a workbench, not a shelf. It is for pounding and hammering and bending and sawing and all the things that need something rock solid to be done easily and without excess strain. If it's not overbuilt, it's underbuilt. If your back doesn't ache at the thought of moving it, it is too light.
@deltadesigns42694 жыл бұрын
Have you thought about potentially using CO2 cartridges for the pressure? It would also give a cool visual because of the frozen gas release. It wouldn't be hard to do the research, there are CO2 bicycle pumps that fit in the palm of your hand.
@truusjenskens84854 жыл бұрын
You need the makita tyre inflator, that one stops at the set pressure.
@nickldominator3 жыл бұрын
An interesting option that could be explored is to use liquid propane. Use the gaseous propane to drive the actuator at which the LP would boil off inside the tank to replenish the vapor pressure. Totally dumb, of course, but would hold several orders of magnitude more 'charges' in the same volume.
