I somewhat agree. I know there is at least one project that we love, but we bought in right at the height of Covid prices and prices have fallen hard. We love the project and will definitely keep working it as it is one of our big 3 projects, but it definitely stings to see where the prices are now versus when we got in.

We don’t have any formal plans as the shed was a prefab one that was already built when they delivered it, but the heat source is a Mitsubishi HVAC mini split!

Good video for people able to buy their way in to the business. The rest of us just can't keep up with the people able to import weird new morphs. Kinda the reason people in my friends group just stopped. Rooting for you and other honest breeders out there.

Thank you for watching and the hobby is definitely SUPER expensive. One good thing is that there are price points all the way from $50 to $50,000 for animals so if someone just wants to breed a clutch or two for personal enjoyment, there is definitely a place for them to do that

I disagree. I've tracked Morph Market for a while, now. The average price of the Ball Pythons sold (not just listed and sitting) is consistently about $600. So, if you can afford to breed BPs in the roughly $20-$1200 range, you're going to sell snakes with consistency. As long as you're rolling that money back into your breeding, you're going to grow. Very few people make good money chasing the unicorn morphs. The good money is in making solid combos of the consistently popular genes. This is two-fold. A) The lower priced, lower number combo snakes will sell to those starting out and those looking for pets. B) The higher priced, higher number combo snakes will sell to those who are looking to find out what the unicorns will do with different genes. Pied, Clown, Pastel, Banana, Enchi, Leopard, GHI, Lesser, Yellow Belly (just some examples). These are all affordable genes that people use in _everything._ Simple combos of these genes are affordable and their babies will sell anywhere from $150-$8000, down the line. Starting with a few snakes - each with 2-3 of these genes - puts you on stable footing to build your own lines with quality holdbacks, while making the money needed to grow. That being said, if anyone is trying to make a good living selling Ball Pythons and isn't willing to invest the next ten years of their life getting to that point, they'd better hope a rich uncle dies and loved them most. There are plenty of easier ways to make money. It's something you do because you love it and want to do it every day. Then, if it ends up being profitable enough, you get to "retire" into doing something you love...full time...seven days a week. This is why I think most folks should just stick with hobby breeding.
