I honestly think that Over The Garden Wall is one of the only cartoon/mini series that I wouldn't care if its 'extra season' weren't as genious as the first one. I JUST WANT MORE OF IT AAAARGH. And actually the comics are as good as the cartoon series so I think they have a lot more stories to tell

it was supposed to have 18 episodes and have 3 seasons but the creator didn't want to move. This allowed them to put a TON of effort into the animation, and details like the backgrounds. I'm glad it was short because if it was longer they wouldn't have been able to pay so much attention to it.

I just read these comics not too long ago after my annual viewing of OtGW on Halloween and oh my god I so so so so wish that they make another miniseries detailing Anna's story. It's much more reserved, but how Anna's character develops through the comic made the story so captivating. I also feel like (unlike any sort of continuation of the original series) it can be done with any voice actress and at any point in the future since she only had one line in the original. The more I think about it, the more I wish I had an absurd surplus of money to fund crazy endeavors like this, but I'm aware I'm just a voice shouting into the void. Oh well, a boy can dream.

I think the reason why the unknown is so enjoyable can be found looking at the force from Star Wars we know what it can do but what it is remains well unknown (pun intended) which draws people in with the adventure and then holds them with mystery.
