When I first heard you Lucy, I felt something I have never experienced... your emotions and pure love of singing flow effortlessly directly from your heart into my mind - without a flaw. It is an overwhelming feeling that is so hard to describe. It is complete immersion and captivation. I honestly believe your rendition of this is every bit as good as Eva's and in many ways, surpases it. But your singing always has this magical effect, especially Hallelujah - which is without doubt the best version ever recorded. A song I've known my whole life and loved. Judy Garland sang it for me every year when network TV showed The Wizard of Oz annually. It was a different version and always moving. Eva Cassidy came along and I heard her sing it somewhere not knowing she had passed away. What a shocker when I figured that out. Eva had a wonderful bluesy version that really touched the soul and didn't waver from the "Dorthy" optimism expressed by the talented legend Judy Garland. Eva was performing as a vocalist/instrumentalist almost becoming one with her instrument. Here, Lucy's version seems to give the bluesy feel combined with a deeper and fuller vocal experience while the excellent James Frankland holds the perfect balance with the instrumental element along with a soothing oboe. Just beautiful and the first time I saw this, I couldn't watch once. I had to repeat several times. It's my go to when I want to hear this song.

I've been addicted to Lucy since I first heard her sing her first note of Moon River on the kids voice ,l didn't realise at the time that she didn't go on to win ,l thought that she was easily the best, l was very disappointed that people couldn't see what a beautiful young performer Lucy was l could even see then how great Lucy would become I was just wrong about one thing , I thought it would take longer for her to become the greatest of all time, I absolutely love to hear her voice every day, I couldn't last a day without hearing Lucy sing

Lucy, every time you post a new cover your voice has matured and sounds much stronger than the last. You have tremendous vocal range, a wonderful tonality. Eva Cassidy did it this way live at a small Georgetown club in 96'. It's on KZbin. Not taking anything away anything from Lucy's talent as I am a big fan but credit for the arrangement is in these credits and Eva did these creative original interpretations on every song making them better.

Lucy's interpretation of this song made it her own !! I find that singing sitting down is harder than standing up but Lucy didn't show that at all. She has exceptional control (in every song she sung) and the smile at the end showed me of her absolute satisfaction !! It was an excellent rendition, I totally enjoyed and loved it, as well as the guitar accompaniment. 🎸 "Kudos" Lucy and to the guitarist too !!🥰🤩👍👍👏👏
