The air and the cottony tone gives the song the dreamy character it deserves. Ben Webster and Coleman Hawkins feel.

Well, Sounds velvety like a Vintage. But I guess it is a modern Selmer. Would you share your setup with us?🙏🏻☺️
@Casualsax17Ай бұрын
Hi Thanks for your kind words. It’s a Selmer Ref 36. The secret to the sound is the mouthpiece though. That is a Theo Wanne Brahma 8’ (the original Brahma back when they were affordable). Theo no longer makes a mouthpiece as dark as this. I have an Ambika and it is not as dark.

After watching you play, I am thinking of starting back to playing... In your opinion, what is a good quality sax to buy that is not extremely expensive? I know from experience it pays to buy a good instrument (not the cheapest)... I would really appreciate your opinion.. THANKS in advance,
@Casualsax172 жыл бұрын
Buy second hand so you can always sell it on with the least amount of loss. There are always lots of Yamaha’s in the second hand market and the probably offer the best value for money.

Thanks. This was a while back. I’m using a Theo Wanne Brahma 8’ here. This the old one not to be confused with the current Brahma. It’s darker than anything Theo makes now. Including the Ambika which I use a lot now because it has a lot more projection and brighter mids.
