You are the second channel that teaches over the top and the rest are the cookie-cutter shallowing and all kinds of contortion that hurts people's backs including mine lol. Over the top is like the boogie man in golf but wait a minute, Jack Nicklaus, Ben Hogan, Sam Snead, Calvin Peete, Bobby Jones and you name it these are great players all swing over the top, and not to forget Tiger when he first came into the scene. Please don't stop teaching what's natural, over-the-top swing but like everything else there are boundaries and it'll make the experience a whole lot of fun.

It’s all about using momentum which keeps the club swinging on its natural path. Allowing momentum to get behind you or behind your hands will require you to make an adjustment with your hands through impact causing a flip etc. Jack Nicklaus use to say you can’t release the club to early what he meant was release/direct the club’s momentum. Go check out my mentors channel @malaskagolf when I learnt this golf became easy and as you say my back doesn’t hurt. 👍

That swing is like Henrik Stensons swing! Mike Malaysia swings like that too. Thank you for the lesson! Can’t wait to try it!😍👏👏

Absolutely! This puts you on top of the ball. What about a driver?

Thanks for the comment. Same with the driver learning to swing the momentum correctly is a game changer

You can shallow the club from P4 to P5, then keeping the upper part of the left arm pressed against the side as you get to p6, then turn the back of your left gradually to face target till impact. That way you can shallow club without getting stuck.

I think one of the key points is the body position with the back facing towards the target as you start that down swing. It is a really subtle feeling. But just thinking about keeping my back in the position and the follow through as I release the club and suddenly my drives are splitting the fairway dead straight

I am getting that and making progress for a change. At least I have some simple thoughts about what I need to try and do - THANKS to you and Mike

Great explanation of so called OTT with no over use of the right shoulder as another person seems to be teaching it for$$$. Cheers. Although personally though I don’t manipulate my hands or my wrists as my double pendulum swing does it for me. Cheers

I watched few minutes of your video and subscribed, love this concept , like yourself I got away from it with every Tom dick and Harry talking about shollowing the club, omg I cant take that saying one for time, look I get it your angel of attack matters , guess what like a PGA pro says Homa ,I'm a parking lot weekend golfer lol that's me im not Sergio who's been doing this move his whole life, I also like Wayne Defrancesceo has a similar take on over the top from the inside, he's more of hand path down towards the ball, and the truth is your separation in your transition and your right index finger shallows the shaft , anyway love this concept definitely going back to this type of swing, no positions ,just forces!! Thanks man for sharing your knowledge

@@mattbakergolf But Malaska doesn’t have one of those “racquet clubs” like you Matt.. I wonder if since I’m so steep already in transition that this pattern may mess me up even more? Thoughts? I run out of Rt arm and have to stand up to keep my flip from going fat every time. Horrible way to play golf…

@@Murf1802Love Wayne’s stuff too but agree that he’s in the “shaft flattening” camp vs Mike M and Matt I got the PlaneMate, but these type swings are very rotation dependent and my back is looking for less rotation and sheer forces in my lumbar
@mattbakergolf

@scottsanders2641 it depends how your getting steep a lot of golfers try this move but will use the shoulder to direct the momentum, we still want the arms to shallow but allow the clubs weight to release so the club moves back in front of us. Obviously at speed the club won’t stand up so much and will be in the position that golfers want. So double check your not throwing your right hip and shoulder at the ball. Mike definitely does have a racket on a club like that, it’s where I got the idea from. 😊
