Eureka. Another great video. I realised after watching this and trying the exercise with an axe that my swing plane has been too shallow and hence why I was bending my left arm in the back swing ( righty). Tried at the driving range and an instant gain of 20 yards on my 8 iron now carrying 155-160yards and I'm 59 and using 25 year old King cobras tour, so not strong lofted. Thanks Shawn

Another great lesson Shawn! Since following your methodology over the last year I have gone from a 18 handicap to a 13 😁 and trending to a 10 by the end of summer. Thank you for what you do! And I love the shot tracer! When you are outside, it’s great to see the ball flight. Cheers!

Thanks Shawn I get so much from your videos and am on my way to better golf as this is my 2nd year golfing my worst club is my driver but it is coming around slowly but I have almost gotten rid of the big slice i had I do it once and awhile but now most shots are hooks some times pull hooks but I am getting it and last Wednesday is shot 91 best i have played yet I know it is not great but it is for me and i am hoping to score in the 80s before the end of year
@golflessons2 жыл бұрын
Right on Mark! You are going through the same progressions as Mu and now 4 years into his career as a golfer, he is competing next to the big boys on the Long Drive circuit hitting over 60% of his grids between 340 and 380 and now shooting in the low to mid 80’s and leaving a bunch on the table! Next move for you is to get into our premium channel at www.wisdomingolfpremium.com ($9.95 per month for now) and see all the “task” videos and choose the one you like best and get really good with it and then see the “blur of club” and the “arc blur series”, the “predict contact” and the “goldie locks series” and the “target confirmation series” and “stick your finish despite the ball” series to bring it out on the golf course.

As a retired landscape gardener, a reasonably decent player, 7.2 handicap, i find your teaching concept fascinating, i agree with what you are teaching, with one reservation, looking at the video, the shoulder turns are huge, more than 90 degrees, most people would just swing the arms, they'd probably break down, and not turn the upper body. Just my thoughts
@golflessons2 жыл бұрын
it is all about the engagement of the kinetic chain in the human body; like a baseball pitcher gathering a pitch to deliver 95 MPH for the duration of the game!
@lance51012 жыл бұрын
Using momentum is always something I've had a challenge with. I'm now starting to hit the club 3 distances (short, medium, long) to help figure it out.
@golflessons2 жыл бұрын
Good stuff! Let the weight of the arms fall through to the finish; no guiding and no pushing…
@lance51012 жыл бұрын
One thing I'm finding is I tend to over-extend the arms and point them at the ball on the downswing. I have to try and correct it which is either on or off depending on the day.

Great stuff. Thank you Shawn. Any different thoughts about driver swing and hand / arm depth or shaft shallowness€
@golflessons2 жыл бұрын
Great question! You should never have to think about where your arms go in the backswing; lumberjacks and carpenters don’t ever do and neither should you. However, understanding the human kinetic chain and how it is used to propel things can put your mind at ease; see “football drill shawn clement” and “driver speed and smash shawn clement” and the best ones are “throwing the club straight shawn clement” (and the other 3 or 4 we have) On our premium channel at www.wisdomingolfpremium.com we have a whole series on Throwing from wedge to items longer than the driver to really drive the point home and 90% of the series in this channel have a version for the driver.

Great stuff. Two questions: I noticed Mu's ball position seemed a bit back of center, does that adjustment help with aligning to the low point as his head has a bit of back tilt Also, does the plane flatten out a bit with longer irons?
@golflessons2 жыл бұрын
Back of centre because he is hitting a draw; fade would be a hair forward of centre…and yes, please see our videos on the long irons such as “gently flush the long irons shawn clement”
@beimsteiner2 жыл бұрын
@@golflessons this has been eye opening, I've been practicing more and more with a three iron, not that I have great swing speed or anything, but the difference in impact is day & night, and I'm starting to get to the point of implementing your way of setup and ball position because it's delivering flush impact. Thank you much!!!

Hi Shawn, premium subscriber here (encourage all to join for that amazing library of wisdom). I hear a lot about rotational and flatter swings lately to help eliminate some of the timing requirements (for accuracy) of a more arm throwing action. What are your thoughts on this for a mid handicapper - do you see value in consistency and accuracy of a rotation focus or is the message simply to stay on task?
@golflessons2 жыл бұрын
This is where the industry in teaching has lost it’s wheels and continues to sabotage the natural progression of how a human machine adapts and survives on this planet. When you look at our throwing series on premium, you realize how incredible the timing of the weight or pressure shift is and how perfectly the hips turn out of the way of the arm swing; WHY?? Because it is the only way to hit the target you are throwing the club at and 1000 years ago that was the meal you needed to survive!!! This is why we love all these sports because it allows us to move and be competitive to continue to thrive.
@CanZen12 жыл бұрын
Thanks Shawn, I certainly enjoy a task and target more than a bunch of swing thoughts when playing. Thanks for the wisdom!!👍

Does the leading edge cut or the sole ? Confused 🤷♂️
@golflessons2 жыл бұрын
The leading edge is the blade and the sole of club is the glide plate to allow it to cut along the ground smoothly; just like the shaving adds! 😝😝

When I go head behind the ball (or tree) I always cut the ball and get no compression at all and the ball goes straight up in the air with no distance at all. What am I doing wrong?
@golflessons2 жыл бұрын
This means that your grip-club face relationship is way too open to begin with; see “most important video on grip ever shawn clement” and “most overlooked detail with driver shawn clement” to start; then you want to deliver a proper fundamentally sound RELEASE of the arm anatomy; allowing the release to happen in the golf swing is so elusive to golfers because of the nature of the game; we are so fearful of making mistakes! baseball hitting, tennis serving, baseball pitching, ping pong top spin hockey wrist shots all have the same movement patterns and this is a big one. See “fencing for power shawn clement” to get your feet wet and then head to www.wisdomingolfpremium.com and see all the “release” videos that come up when you type the word “release” in the search box on the list of videos by date. Enjoy!

@@golflessons Thanks for replying! I actually managed to figure it out. I looked at your grip videos and thought REALLY hard on how I would have hit a hammer and it kind of clicked. Takes practice but managed to play a decent round with the new grip and had solid connection with the ball the whole round. Thanks again!

It looks kind of dangerous at the top of back swing and full follow thru release with the axe head when Mu is swinging it. Its like you would say, oh I would never cut myself until you do, then once is too late to realize it, yikes. Like everyone has at sometime rebounded the club off their shoulder but if there is an axe head on that could be dangerous.
@golflessons2 жыл бұрын
Our bodies have an amazing ability to self preserve; think about what you want to do with the axe and not what you don’t want to happen; same as golf!
