Nothing beats a Friday over under to finish out the work week! Not so much just the boat, but Andy’s side commentary as well. Lifting Neal on the cavitation plate to fall in. Classic! I’ve owned a Triton and then moved to a used Ranger from the Forrest Wood days. Night & Day! Such a shame to see the brand where it is today. Thanks as always to Andy for a mechanics opinion!

Love the channel Andy. Full disclosure I'm on my 3rd Triton I agree there are things I would change and like to see upgraded but it's a solid boat line. I've been in rangers, nitros, Phoenix basscat most of the major brands and your 100% correct in your assessment nitro low end Triton in the middle and ranger...well not sure what they are thinking

I have a 97 tr 21 and a love it. I don't see myself ever selling it to pay $80000 for a new one. I just out run a new one with the new Merc on it so I don't see why I should pay that much. My boat will do anything a new one will expect empty my bank account

The problem with any boat you may buy is their is no wiggle room in the price. What they say it is is what you pay, same way with vehicles, if you want it or need it they force you to pay full retail price. Like anything though, if your seeking cheap you will get cheap, if you want quality you will get quality. Both should be negotiable like in the good ole days, that's fine forever until People just stop buying. What stops people from buying? No one has the money to purchase the product, which is just around the corner. Watch all your vids and I'm glad you did this one. I recently bought my second boat and I paid cash for it, I bought it to fit my needs not my wants, this is where people get into trouble, their wants override their needs and they pay out the ass for interest cost for 20 plus years. There is the real cost but no one looks at it that way.

My dad has a 2018 TrX. He’s wanted one since the late 90’s so cut him some slack, it’s his dream boat. It is a Johnny Morris boat so the rigging isn’t the best. Had to take it to the dealer because kinked power pole lines. However, the hull is very good quality. It rides so well in any water. As for me, I’d like to get a Gambler once I am in the market for a boat. Gamblers are the epitome of cool bass boats. Dale Earnhardt had one. Yuki Ito from the coolest tackle company Megabass has one. Who would want to go in an 80+ mph bass boat?!

The Triton 18 TRX is at 70mph boat, comes with a 200 Pro XS and is $42K. At that price and performance, it would have to have some major flaws for it not to be one of the best values in bass fishing.

I have a 2008 tr 196 with a 200 mercury brought it new like it very well it handle good in rough water like Sam Rayburn keep it wipe down stay in garage got 205hrs on it was considered trade it on 2021 20 trx wanted 50 grand difference I said no just keep it paid for.

I ran a triton TRX 20 patriot all season in the BFL’s and local tournament not the the first issue. But to get a triton tournament ready you have to get over $80,000. Mine was $83,000. Love the boat. Had co’s all season tell me how well the boat rode. They all had rangers, phoenix’s, vexus’s of there own.

@@ddm62571 The quality is the biggest thing. I’ve talked to several people that have owned Rangers for long time. They said they will never buy another one from JM. The quality has gone down. It’s the little things you can see the difference. I used to sell Nitros, and you can see A little Nitro nuances from the Nitro in the new Rangers. Of course this is only my opinion.

I still have my mint 2008 ranger z520. (Came from a 2003 Triton tr21)...I think the V shape hulls ride better in the rough - Ranger hulls slap the waves versus cut through them. The ranger flat bottom is frustrating when fishing shallow and ya get stuck on logs easier - but i think they do go shallower than Tritons. Ranger not as fast as Triton...but i do tend to like the Ranger fishability better. Both had Mercs, both had issues...coils, cylinder, ...more issues with the 225 than the 250 though. If i was to buy a new boat today - and if i was to get past the 1987 styling, i'd prob look at the Basscats....maybe Phoenix too. Hearing some bad news of all the newer boats, quality mostly. So i may just update my old rig, put some money in the bank...have some beers...and be done with it all.

Once you get done with over and under, you should do older "98-04" boat brand size budget builds. Over time things that need close look at that your getting the right value buy for. What in and outs makes a 04 champion 210 a 20k vs 40k boat. There a lot people have older boats and over price them. Or people get a older boat then realize they are about put lot time get boat right. I think your every day joe would enjoy that.

I agree .. I think these are two boats that a lot of people are looking at buying.. with my research these are the two I been looking at and the Phoenix 721 pro xp is my pick at the moment .. I think alittle more time is put into the finish and fit of the Phoenix .. but with the amount they are selling they can’t keep up and some of that care I starting to get lost.. IMO ... What’s your opinion of Yamaha 250 sho on triton 20 Trx? I think great motor poor boat! My triton has to much movement on water at high speeds(75 mph) yes computer has been flashed. When I say movement I mean the bow wants to wonder on me I’m driving the boat to much. Anybody else have this problem?

I love my last 2 Triton's, my old 205 and my new 206Fish hunter, they are everything a ranger 620 is only $20,000 less... i know your talking bass boats, but we use these things up here on Bays de Noc... I value your opinion but in the walleye game there is no little boat companies that make a boat with the lay out i like other than Triton , Ranger and Vexus.... Yarcraft/Basscat, and Skeeter make nice bass boats but there walleye boat layouts suck!!!! and i Will never own a Nitro anything period....
