I don't think Alastor told him that this partnership was just mere entertainment. A fan theorized that yes, Vox confessed his feelings to Alastor, but Alastor told him no because he is canonically aroace. He doesn't like him like that. Remember that creepy fan of Fizzarolli from the Mammon episode on Helluva Boss? How he became an obsessive hater after Fizz rejected him? I think that's Vox. He's upset that he can't get in a relationship with Alastor, so he obsessively hates him.
@e-122psi37 ай бұрын
Yeah I could buy into the idea that Alastor liked Vox originally, but the same way he likes Rosie or Niffty or possibly Charlie. Alastor's fine making casual friends, but sees himself above overaffectionate bonds, to the point of a survival tactic, he HATES the idea in the finale song because he wants to be associated as an all-powerful loner that needs no one. I definitely buy into the idea that Vox had WAY more for Alastor and he just matter of fact rejected him, though likely more in a "Nothing personal, old boy, but I'm just not like that" sort of way. I think if anything that would ADD to Vox's scorn, that Alastor was not even hateful about it, just indifferent, or at least presented himself as such, and possibly didn't even expect Vox to take it bad. Them being close didn't even pass his mind. Hell maybe that's what Alastor thought was 'asked me to join his team', he doesn't understand Vox's request properly, thinking it was a mere business opportunity. They just DON'T understand each other.

The one thing that really reinforces my personal belief on how Vox and Alastor’s friendship fell apart is Alastor’s line in the first episode about radio being “the _proper_ medium to express oneself,” suggesting a degree of artistic integrity. And consider the fact that Alastor allowed his visage to show up on film when he and Vox took that picture. Alastor! The Radio Demon! And he allowed his picture to be taken alongside Vox! I think their friendship at least was honestly genuine. For a while, at least. So here’s my take: However it was that Vox and Alastor came to be close, it was always “chasing the next big thing” for Vox. Al, however, is a man of firm principles. He doesn’t turn his back on what has gotten him to where he is, unlike Vox, whose compulsion to jump onto new trends goes past innovation into a lack of commitment (at least to someone as old-fashioned as Alastor). There is no doubt in my mind that Vox had a thing for Al, but I don’t think he ever got as far as actually confessing his feelings (though I can attest that getting shut down before you can properly confess still hurts A LOT). Anyway, my guess is that while Vox worked to expand his influence, Alastor simply couldn’t help noticing they were drifting apart and going down different paths (way easier for his asexual ass to notice than the probably otherwise super obvious signs of Vox’s crush on him). Vox asking for a formal upgrade to their partnership was just the final nail in the coffin. Al had too much pride in himself and his work, and was downright offended by Vox more-or-less asking him to sell out. Rather than compromise his artistic integrity to the commercialization Vox was embracing, Al flatly refused, cut ties, and made it *very* clear that they couldn’t be friends anymore. Alastor moved on with his afterlife (minus his one male friend) and Vox didn’t.

I wonder if Valentino played a part in the falling out between Vox and Alastor. We see Vox in his original big TV box state in 2 separate pictures, one with Alastor and one with Valentino. What if in meeting Valentino, someone who was very knowledgeable of the popular entertainment trends of the 70s, he met someone who was more interested in his ideas than Alastor showed. Plus, given how Valentino slyly drops the bombshell news of Alastor’s return on Vox, reminding Vox that Alastor almost beat him during their battle, and subtly encourages Vox to send a message to Alastor that he’s in charge now, it makes me wonder if Valentino purposely helped deepen the rift between Vox and Alastor. And going with your theory, maybe Alastor immediately disliked Valentino, including all he stood for, and was disappointed to see Vox align with Valentino and becoming a different person than the man he once called “pal.”

About your question at 14:11, I think he's specifically referring to two overlords in particular: Rosie and Carmilla. Rosie lost hundreds or maybe even thousands of followers from the Cannibal Colony at the hotel during the big battle, greatly reducing her pool of manpower and possibly costing her some of her demonic power depending on how many of their souls she owned. Carmilla meanwhile provided weapons made of angelic steel for all those cannibals at either a greatly reduced price or even for free, and any weapons that the surviving cannibals didn't take with them would've almost certainly been scavenged from the battlefield by thieves in the aftermath of the fight. All-in-all, both overlords will most likely be in a much weaker position come the second season, and will almost certainly be the first on the Vee's hit-list before Alastor's return.

That aside, Carmilla appears to be very close friends with Zestiel, and he seems to be even more feared than Alastor. Pretty sure none of them need to worry about being physically attacked by the Vees. A more subtle concern might be Vox setting up a rival organisatrion to the hotel, offering Sinners an easier path to redemption that involves giving Vox money rather than actually changing themselves. I mean Alastor is Ace... It could just as likely be that Vox pushed his boundaries. Alastor posed for a picture with Vox, something I can't see him doing unless he did care about the guy, just not in the way Vox wanted him to. Alastor probably Did laugh, but in a way that was meant to give Vox an out. "Haha! What a grand joke, my friend! I think you've been watching too many of your own melodramas!" Confronted with those kinds of feelings, I could see Alastor try to backpedal Fast. There's not a lot of friendships that can come back from that kind of confession, especially if it's literally never going to happen on one end. I have a theory that the confession wasn't even the cause of the fight, but an inciting incident that festered over time until they actually hated each other. Vox really treats Alastor like an Ex, but Alastor addresses him with epithets like: Old Pal. I also think the old vs new tech is just an exaggerated aspect of their personal vendettas. Alastor does know modern lingo, and how to legitimately edit video (learned from Vox?) he's just Petty. So, so Petty.

Even with minimal screentime, we see that Vox is probably the most self destructive villain after Adam. His temper tantrum fuelled feud with Alastor just constantly backfires on him and gives Alastor more fuel for his fire. He makes a big deal about....what not a big deal Alastor is after finding out he's back on public TV and Alastor siezes the chance to ridicule him back, making obvious to everyone who has the high ground. Then he sends Sir Pentious to spy on Alastor, and cruelly dismisses him when he doesn't do a good enough job, leading Charlie to take Sir Pentious in anyway. Sir Pentious and his Egg Bois end up the spanner in the works for the Extermination, the hotel is saved, and Alastor gets his deal with Charlie that Vox dreaded. I have a feeling that sinners being proved redeemable might end up a thorn in the Vees' plans later on as well with less souls to prey on, which will also be all on Vox for sending Hazbin their first successful client. The Overlord meeting implies most high powers were indifferent to Alastor. Had Vox simply kept his cool about Alastor, he wouldn't have looked like the big cheese again, he wouldn't have got his deal with the Princess of Hell, and his business likely would have been swiftly obliterated and forgotten about during the Extermination, rather than given all the support beams it needed. I get the feeling as the series goes on, Alastor won't be proven Vox's worst enemy, VOX will be.

In stayed gone, when he does the lyric “the demon is a coward” and cosplay’s a priest, he immediately uses the word gospel and later he cosplays like he’s on a vacation and uses the line “Vacay”, like he’s going “do you get it, do you get the joke”. And later he, when he has a deer 🦌 head on a plate, he uses double meaning for Bloody Rare and uses the prong to point at it, trying to have the audience laugh at his jokes. In short, like modern television he is very self conscious and NEEDS the audience to stay here watching him

It is really interesting how Vox is weirdly set up as ironically more sympathetic than Alastor despite the former being billed as a major antagonist. Really goes to show you how evil Alastor is.
@Crisjola7 ай бұрын
Part of it is because we can all relate to the general frustration and such that Vox has. He’s shown in a light of not being a villain, and is actively given ways out when presented _as_ a villain moment to moment. (If you’ve ever had a really bad day of fighting with tech support while also in IT yourself, you completely understand how both wrong but tooth grindingly tempting Vox’s “I’ll send up the lowest earners” line is. Yeah, it’s horrific, but you also might want to kick some teeth in after being given the run around by someone all day and told the thing that is actively wrong on the computer is not really what is going on and you’re just an idiot.) Alastor isn’t given the same amount of emotional depth for several reasons, the biggest being that he doesn’t ever drop the mask around the audience either until his part in the finale. Then he’s mask off and completely crumbling. I’ve had to repeatedly remind myself that this is a musical theater thing and that I’m (historical fiction writer) going to be crushed if I expect Hazbin to fix their magic system that they accidentally over did by not realizing that the moment Vox started building his empire during those seven years Alastor was gone, based on the song, and that even with no love lost between the two, Vox went against logic and his character and made everything wireless. Which if he actually were making his empire and the switch to video while he and Alastor weren’t speaking/Alastor had poofed and couldn’t hold his own iron grip on Hell, Vox /never/ would have moved off of fiber optic cables. WiFi could be high jacked by Alastor, any wireless modem would be laid out and overheated and fried by the Radio Demon. And because so much of Alastor’s character is hidden behind the persona of the Radio Demon, and when that isn’t his ‘on’ he’s ’on’ in his Host persona (you can watch him flip back and forth around Lucifer and then as he manipulates Charlie right into his open hand when they make their deal in episode 7). Vox is sympathetic, because we do get to see the real Vox. I think we only get to see the real Alastor, aside from when he’s scrambling and having a breakdown in his tower, briefly when he really thinks he’s _that good_ that he doesn’t need an angelic steel weapon to take out Adam. That he’s strong enough to rival Lucifer, to be a soul who has taken charge of his own fate. That is who Alastor _desperately_ wants to be. He _idolizes_ this… person who is feared, or loved, he doesn’t care, but who is respected and seen as amazing and can do whatever they want, however they want. He idolizes a thing that doesn’t exist, and might exist if he could get out of his own way long enough to realize if he wants to have that freedom he needs to not care who has what power and be willing to walk away from _everything_ . Wanting power, and constantly trying to get it as a misguided way to be ‘free’ so he commits atrocities instead, is why he’s evil, and why he’s so… annoying? Like I love Al, and I dislike fannon Al, but there is a large part of me that has spent five years with a different version of the Radio Demon than either of them, and canon Al needs A) someone to smack him in the head with his micstaff, just bonk, right between the antlers, and B) a personal assistant who knows how proud he is and knows that the idiot didn’t take an angelic steel weapon on purpose and still chooses to make sure he has a revolver and a hunting knife on him. The worst that happens if Alastor is shown having supports (notice how both of his lackies in Husk and Niffty either hate him, or aren’t capable of the foresight to realize that he’s going to go off half cocked into battle) is he’s depicted as less evil, and his threat value is lessened, the way Vox’s is. For that matter, I’m sure Rosie didn’t pester him because she probably doesn’t realize, even though she clearly has known Al for decades, that Alastor was too proud to bother to make sure he didn’t get himself iced. It wasn’t like he went to fight angels with his proper weapons he used as a human as his fallback. He didn’t take them _at all_ so when he needed to not get got, he had to scamper off.
@Damned_afterall7 ай бұрын
In defence of Alastor I think he is still a bit unfamiliar with what his deal actually does to him. Just based on how surprised he was when Adam broke his mic with one hit I think at his full power he would have actually been able to hold him off for a significant amount of time though not necessarily be able to kill him. Beyond that his oldest friends (Rosie and Mimzy) insist that aside form the murdering he is a good and even sweet guy for the most part. I don’t think he is really supposed to be evil, more of a wild animal backed into a corner. Though he does lack empathy in general which can be interpreted as being outright evil.
@Crisjola7 ай бұрын
@@Damned_afterall oh trust me, aside from his ego needing to be checked, (I really, really, _really_ want to take his micstaff and just **bonk** right between the antlers), I _adore_ Alastor. I’m more than fine to give him that pass for the (admittedly) larger sin of the eating of people, mostly because I’ve assumed he’s been strong armed into it-and once someone is in Hell I don’t even see an issue with it since aside from “is a Sinner demon by species” it’s just way too complicated for me to get my morality tangled in it. As far as his fight with Adam… Al still needs a personal assistant. Or _someone_ who is with it enough and cares about him enough that they will like duct tape an angelic steel blade to his tailcoat so he can’t just ditch the weapon to “prove” he’s so strong that he did the impossible (defeated the leader of the angelic army without angelic powers/metal). (This also gets back to bonking him over the head with his own mic. He needs _someone_ to call him out on his stupidity and ego.) Also, _apparently_ Alastor finding his various ‘work’ he did while human to be not unpleasant and to vaguely enjoy it, and find some sport in it, is a bad thing. Which I personally don’t follow, especially since it’s being argued over if part of what makes Adam’s exterminations more wrong is he sees it as sport and as entertainment. I think Adam is in the wrong because he blanket statemented all Sinners, when he is First Man, and basically hasn’t had anyone come along and corrected his jerk behaviors and told him to not be this selfish, ego, frat boy who embodies the seven deadly sins and needs to mature over the last 10k years into being a proper First Man and father to all of humanity. I don’t actually think Adam is wrong for enjoying hunting demons down. I’m almost positive that certain demons, exactly like the ones Alastor targeted while alive, are probably repeatedly targeted by other demons, including Alastor, and routinely ripped apart and forced to reform over and over again after they’re eaten/taken out. I agree about him being a wild animal, but it’s heavily implied that his deal has been around since he Fell/started taking over Hell by taking down Overlords. And that it isn’t new. I do think he’s not had to test it in battle and that he wrongly thought he was strong enough (for whatever reason his ego got that out of hand) to potentially take on Lucifer since he was more than willing to nettle him in Dad Beat Dad.

Honestly, I could go on an hour long rant about Vox and his connections with Alastor, but the most meaningful one I’ve noticed has got to be the twos outfits. Both wear suits, bowties, have the same shoe style, and, while not necessarily an outfit choice, they also share the claws at the end of their fingers. The reason this intrigues me is that we explicitly see from the old photo of Vox and Valentino that Vox did not always dress this way! He originally wore something much more unique, a blazer and turtle neck without any bowtie or old timey top hat (also an outfit more up-to-date than his current). For a man who does his best to keep up with the times to be wearing an outfit that utilizes mostly old fashion trends and also heavily resemble someone whom he claims to hate… there’s just no way it’s a coincidence lol. We don’t know when Vox had this outfit change but both major options are exciting to me. Either he changed before his falling out with Alastor, (maybe thinking that mirroring his image would project himself as someone with equal strength) or he did it after he had already been rejected. In the former, he refuses to change his new outfit due to possibly attachment? Maybe he views changing it as a way of letting Alastor win. The latter option, however, it implies that Vox reveres Alastor’s image to such a degree that he changed himself to match even after Vox knew Alastor wanted nothing to do with him. Maybe he wants to own it better than Al or maybe he didn’t believe his old outfit projected the image he wanted for himself. Idk, I’ll probably start to ramble about nothing if I keep going, but I’d love to hear if anyone else’s opinion on what the outfit change could mean.
@StarViewer687 ай бұрын
I agree with your insight on the similar outfits for Vox and Alastor. Another possible reason Vox wears his outfit this way is his thinking that if he can’t have Alastor, he’ll be Alastor but better. It’s like how a victim of a bully gradually emulates their bully in appearance or mannerisms, as their way of getting back at that bully (ex. an unpopular kid bullied by a popular kid becoming a popular kid that bullied others too).

A GENUINELY capable business man. Working w/ Alastor in whatever capacity he did definitely gave him a boost in the rankings, but he's still skilled on his own. I think all of the Vees could be relatively powerful overlords on their own, but know that they're stronger together and that's why they stick together. Also the other Vees agreeing w/ Al in Stayed Gone could literally just be them being egotistical fucks lmao. ALSO to get into some overanalysis of Alastor, that line could mean that he genuinely thinks somebody who would willingly share any amount of power with anybody else is inherently weak on their own. That man has worked SO HARD to keep himself Without Attatchment, hell a big part of his breakdown in Finale was literally "I've gotten too close to these people and it's making me WEAK", so we already know he views personal relationships as some kind of weakness. Even Alastor owes some of his power plays on the other Hazbin characters like Charlie or Frank, just likely under his belief, he isn't teaming up with them, he's WEAPONIZING them, he's a chessmaster using pawns, of course the finale shows Alastor breaking down and wondering whether this image is starting to crumble for 'altruism'.
@e-122psi37 ай бұрын
Vox starting off a down and out makes a compelling dynamic since it makes Vox a dark mirror to Sir Pentious. You take a look at such an evolution and how blatantly bad he took Alastor's rejection, it feels like Vox didn't just want power, he wanted approval and companionship, something he still technically got but from equally toxic people like Val and Vel. It feels like ultimately Vox needed a Charlie at that low point in his (after)life who shown him proper compassion and put him on the right path. The fact he failed to be that to Sir Pentious himself also shows just how far gone he is by now. Taken further if Vox really did have a tragically rejected confession. Sir Pentious confessed to Cherri Bomb, but with no regrets and not even asking if she felt the same way, he was fine dying with that declaration of love with nothing in return. Vox's love was his start to darkness, Pentious' love was his start to heroism.
@CursusCida7 ай бұрын
That’s such a good comparison and honestly ,the more I think about it, the more I’m fairly certain that’s what was intended. Another connection between the two is their similar power sets and abilities. Vox is a media demon who sells electronics to hell and has hypnosis powers activated by his eye. Sir pentious literally gets his appearance from the adage “snake oils salesman” and is also shown being quite the inventor himself. He also uses some kind of hypnotic ability on Angel during their fight, though it way less effective than Vox’s. Sir Pentious may be what Vox would have been like if he failed to succeed. Probably something along the lines of “absolute power corrupts absolutely”
@e-122psi37 ай бұрын
@@CursusCida Sir Pentious even makes his own rendition of Vox's surveillance tech so he could command the battle in the finale. They also target Alastor for clout, though Pentious settles for being an ally on Alastor and Charlie's terms afterward, something Alastor is sure to mock Vox over since it was pretty much all his doing in the first place. Even more fittingly, while Alastor is more 'old timey' than Vox, Sir Pentious goes FURTHER back into Victorian steampunk type industry. Vox is the same guy who got everything he wanted. Pentious is the same guy who got everything he NEEDED.
@ryanlozano90867 ай бұрын
@@e-122psi3also don’t forget that it’s implied sir pentious was a mad scientist when he was alive and actually wanted attention at what most scientists do and really he was a good antisocial boy who may have went to hell due to petty pranks on those that look down at him (reason for why he has eyes all round his body as it means that people judge him) and may have accidentally killed people as cannon fodder when one of his inventions went wrong killing him as well and leading him to hell
@boltindie90117 ай бұрын
They even share a similar color scheme, with Pentious being a warmer character of Yellows, Reds, and Black while Vox is a colder character of Blues, Reds, and Black. Heck, when Vox realizes who he could use as a spy for the Hotel, two of his sharks circle his head to recreate a dark reflection of Sir Pentious’ hood
@e-122psi37 ай бұрын
@@boltindie9011 I like how he contrasts both Alastor and Vox in terms of his arc. Alastor is completely adverse to any change of style or personality, while Vox continuously changes himself at the cost of his integrity. Pentious meanwhile, despite being from an even older time period than either of them, took a more healthy approach to change, becoming a better kinder version of himself. I think him inventing a similar device to Vox's while still using his usual cannons and battleships with the same angelic steel upgrade the others got in the finale also shows he's able to upgrade his ability set without losing his own trademark.

I always interpreted the Lin about “overlords hanging by a thread” to be more metaphorical, like they were just very shaken up. I sort of inferred that since everyone in Hell was panicked, that the overlords just kinda threw their image to the wind, thinking they were all going to die, and half destroyed their image in an effort to protect themselves against the angels. So now that they’re left alive, they have to deal with the repercussions of their safety measures, and they’re all now exposed because people realize that they aren’t as powerful as everyone thought. Hence, “hanging by a thread.” But that’s just my interpretation.

Here’s another thing. Vox’s domain is video, but what does his name mean? Voice. Vox’s power is both an evolution and a dilution of Allastor’s Think about it for a moment. Allastor, the Radio Demon is the embodiment of early broadcast journalism. Audio only. He had to rely upon his words to stir the imagination of his subjects (listeners) he’s telling them how to think but he’s manipulating their imagination by letting them imagine. Vox is telling people what to think…and showing images in the hopes of stifling their imagination. Ever read a book, watch a movie based on that book, and complain about how the ‘movie didn’t (do this, that or the other thing) in the book?’ The book, like old radio programs, encourages the consumer to use their imagination; visual media reduces that. Go back in broadcast history to one of the famous radio ‘reporters,’ Walter Winchell. He evolved from newspaper to radio. He also learned to master the art of knowing what to say, what not to say and when to choose between them. He could build or destroy someone with a few choice words. That’s Allastor, just maybe not as affable as our lovable demon. Vox is…similar. But he’s a modern commentator and relies on visuals to gloss over anything he lacks in vocal persuasiveness. Allastor tells. Vox shows. Allastor never tells all.

This is probably an unpopular opinion, but I really hope that after the Vees inevitably get defeated after season 2 they still stick around and maybe even become a sort of team rocket type of squad (ie. not really a serious threat anymore, but occasionally comes in to cause a bit of conflict). Like I know everyone wants to see Val die, and there is a high likelihood that at least one of them are going to die next season given what happened to Adam, but I really like what they bring to the show as a group and I’d rather them to at least chill in the background after their major antagonistic role in season 2 (like definitely have them get their asses handed to them, just not in a “they are now out of the show for good” kind of way). Idk I just feel like we’ve known about these 3 for years and now that we are finally getting them in the show it’d be a bit of a waste to completely get rid of them after only 2 seasons when Hazbin is clearly wanting to go on for much longer. But then again, this could just be me being obsessed with this silly evil tv-man since the moment he was shown for a split second in the pilot lol

I can see how his emotional depth and feeling of rejection (of which there seems to be enough proof going around to take for certain) whether romantic or just friendly can push him into a more serious, dark side and manifest some hidden strength (he DID cause a blackout through just a temper tantrum, and the way he uses the watch that Pentious had during that little infiltration stuff shows that he may have access to the most modern tech in Hell bar none, even Pentious - but he is too focused on getting views and validation to see his actual strong sides. Its possible that Alastor is actually the source of him always seeking validation and being so focused on the audience, given that Alastor must have been his mentor at some point, and he can be very cruel if he wants to, so imo he steered his mentoring to mould Vox into the most entertaining news outlet for him (and he loves personal failings) However, I also feel that whatever was to be said about Vox has already been said, and he is simply not threatening enough compared to other big bads (Roo, Lute) that are guaranteed to show up in season 2. I feel that if anything will include Vox, he will remain a secondary character, and his powers and hidden potential will most likely include him being pushed to action by other Vees, or the other way around.

Honsetly Vox and Alastor's relationship reminds me a lot of me and an ex-friend. (Let's call him Mark) Long story short Mark was dating a friend I had and still have, Blayne. For context. At the time (2020) I had just came out of two VERY toxic relationships in my mid to late teen years, one where I was the problem, the other where I was the victim. So I knew A LOT about both sides of the manipulation coin. I knew how people did it, because I used to do it, then realized what it does to people where I met someone who was even worse then me. After this I began working on improving myself as a person and not being a piece a shit anymore because I realized just how fucking awful it was. All of this is to say that DIRECTLY because of what I went through, I cqn now very easily pick up on bad, manipulative people, since I was once a manpulator myself, and was also manipulated by someone else. I quickly picked up on the fact that the fact that Mark was straight up emotionally manipulating and abusing Blayne. So, I told Blayne he was not good for them, and Blayne eventually broke up with Mark. (Mark then faked s*cide to try and bait Blayne back in btw) Later on I banned Mark from my discord, and he DMed me on insta basically being all like "what the fuck," I tend basically told him he was a toxic piece of shit and I wanted nothing to do with him anymore. Cut off all ties and communicate. For the past 3 or 4 years, I consistently had a person leaving awful hate comments on my art and writing, often they were filled with queerphobic, ableist, and racist slurs (I'm not even a POC btw, I'm just queer and neurodivergant. I have no idea why he constantly called me the n word.) And would even leave comments sexualizing underage characters in my art. He also would make fake quotes and things about me and they are so bad that I might literally get banned for even quoting what he said. Anyway, this was going on for about 3 or 4 years, (we cut ties in 2020 or 2021 I honestly forget) and at the time I had NO IDEA who this person was. It wasn't until very recently where I decided to bait him on A03 by making all of my stories free to comment by guests, ofc he came immediately, and then he straight up said it was him. No joke, in one of his comments, He gave me the fucking police number for his area code and taunted me to call the cops in his area on him. (I looked up the number and... yeah he really did dox his own area code.) So I immediately deleted that comment because obviously I didn't want the wrong person finding that and actually doing it. I should mention i literally fucking forgot all about Mark's existence until he revealed to be the person who had been relentlessly been harrassing and stalking me for years. So I finally replied to him, and no joke I quoted Alastor from Stayed Gone to play on his own way of commenting. (Which was taking song lyrics and making them horribly offensive) And he revealed why he had been stalking and harrassing me for years... because I told him he was toxic and I cut ties with him. We went back and forward with me basically being like "Bruh I had the same thing told to me by my ex and I realized she was right and I changed while you went down this path proving me right," and no joke it was basically just Stayed Gone with me as Alastor and Mark as Vox. I even ended up winning in the end because I basically tore into him and how his behavior proved me right all along and how pathetic he actually was. The moment I began finally repling knowing who he was was the moment he lost because I revealed his weaknesses and once I did he lost his shit. So, yeah, Vox and Alastor's rivalry is actually scarily realistic, and I'm sure I'm not the only one who relates to them and their story. Shit like this happens irl and I'm glad Hazbin showing that.

sad thing is that if Al did see him as a friend too, then being AroAce made him to uncomfortable to stay. funny thing tho, Vox canonically has an Alastor body pillow

One thing I find interesting is his powerset. First, the obvious hypnosis. That always makes a good villain power, and his in particular just looks cool! Second, teleportation. We never see him actually use it to any real affect, but we don't know he CAN'T. Third, self-duplication. This one might be less obvious if you interpret the songs as not in-universe, but even if you do, the parts of Stayed Gone where he's shown as on a TV probably are In-universe, and there are two Voxes in one of those. What's interesting is the only other characters we see multiple of (not counting still images) at once in any musical number are angellic (Lucifer and, to a lesser extent since the clones are imperfect, Lute or some other exorcist). However, there's another explanation. What if Vox was able to survive Alastor because the Vox we see is only one body in a thousands, even millions strong hive mind of mass-produced TV-headed vessels for a single soul? Or, in a much more pathetic, but equally interesting direction, maybe the Vox we see now isn't the original, and he's so scared of Alastor because he's seen countless previous Voxes be replaced, and he's scared he's next. Who knows, maybe these obsolete Voxes might be allies to the heroes eventually! But even with all this, he's not the most interesting Vee to me. Velvette is. We see A LOT less of her than the other two. If I'm not mistaken (which I could be), she's the only one of them whose powers are still a mystery, except projecting images behind her. However, she's apparently "The backbone of the Vees" if she can be believed as not just boasting there, and at the very least she's as strong as Val, considering the "powerless" comment aimed at Vox in Stayed Gone. It's practically impossible for me not to be at least a little curious about what she's capable of, especially considering her design is very much the odd one out in the group, looking much more human and having a different color scheme than the other two.

I love the playful "video killed the radio star" piano piece in the background when you were talking about their past XD

The most tragic thing about him is thinking he has a chance fighting against Lucifer and Charlie in S2. XD
@MISSWHAT-lp5om7 ай бұрын
He actually does have a chance against charlie, bc she's too naive and nice she wouldn't hurt anyone plus Vox doesn't actually think he has a chance against them, unlike Valentino he's actually smart and does know he shouldn't fuck with the king of hell

This is so perfectt. This video shows me I was right in some cases and also new facts. Vox isn't as powerfull as he seems for someone. I believe he love to hate Alastor and it is very important for him. But Alastor don't feel the same at all and see everything he do with Vox just as entertaining. This thing between Vox and Alastor got soo big potentional for seazon 2 damn. Bigger than i tought

Imagine if season 2 introduced a relative of Vox, like a son, brother or cousin, but said relative is in Heaven, maybe it would be interesting if said relative also revealed that Vox is an asshole but is incredible sympathetic. That is an unlikely thing to happen, but would be cool to see. PS: Maybe only one eye showing his hypnosis powers could be some indication of how he perished, like maybe a stroke or an accident in only one eye.

Good lord, you should make a short of the statement you made about media companies. It was actually really good, and waaaay too many people just latch onto single sources and roll with it.

10:35 even vox's part proves that lol. every few lines he would switch formats to keep the viewers entertained. like first he was hosting a news broadcast, then he started hosting a talk show. then after that an obey & pay? 😭THEN after that he was like on those travelling, vacation shows things and then finally a cooking show.. 5 formats in 1 part that ends after 1 minute and 27 seconds into the song? clearly insecure 😭
