OVERBROOK HOODS WEST PHILADELPHIA DRIVING TOUR UNIQUE COMBINATION OF HOMES

Overbrook is a neighborhood northwest of West Philadelphia, Philadelphia, in the U.S. state of Pennsylvania. The area's housing ranges from large, old homes to rowhouses to 3- and 4-story apartment buildings.
The name Overbrook is commonly used to refer both to a specific neighborhood and a larger area of northwestern West Philadelphia that includes four Philadelphia City Planning Commission neighborhoods: Overbrook, Overbrook Farms, Morris Park and Overbrook Park.[1] These four neighborhoods are united by the close proximity of Overbrook High School, the Overbrook School for the Blind, the Overbrook SEPTA Station, and Overbrook Avenue. Depending on the definition of Overbrook Farms, The Overbrook School for the Blind either lies partially in Morris Park and partially in Overbrook Farms or entirely in Morris Park.[citation needed]
According to the Philadelphia City Planning Commission, the main boundaries for the Overbrook neighborhood are North 63rd Street to the west, Lansdowne Avenue to the south, and the SEPTA regional rail tracks to the northeast. A very small portion of Woodbine Avenue between North 63rd Street and the SEPTA regional rail tracks bounds Overbrook to the north while a very small portion of North 52nd Street between Lansdowne Avenue and the SEPTA regional rail tracks bounds Overbrook to the south.[1]
According to the Commission, the northern boundary of Overbrook Farms is City Avenue (US 1). The western boundary is North 66th Street between City Avenue and Woodcrest Avenue and Morris Park between Woodcrest Avenue and Malvern Avenue. The southern border is Malvern Avenue to Wynnewood Road, a small portion of Wynnewood Road, and Woodbine Avenue from Wynnewood Road to North 58th Street. The eastern boundary is North 58th Street between Woodbine Avenue and Overbrook Avenue, a small portion of Overbrook Avenue, and then Cardinal Avenue between Overbrook Avenue and City Avenue.[1] Overbrook Farms borders Saint Joseph's University on its northeast corner. Although the Philadelphia City Planning Commission considers Malvern Avenue to form part of the southern border, the Overbrook Farms Club says, "At present, there are 413 buildings in Overbrook Farms, which is bounded by 58th and 66th Streets and Woodbine and City Avenues, and bisected by Lancaster Avenue".[2]
West of the Overbrook neighborhood is Morris Park, which derives its name from the eponymous park on the neighborhood’s western edge. The eastern boundary of the neighborhood is North 63rd Street. On the north, the boundary is Woodbine Avenue between North 63rd Street and Wynnewood Road, Wynnewood Road between Woodbine Avenue and Malvern Avenue, and Malvern Avenue between Wynnewood Road and North 68th Street. On the west, the boundary is North 68th Street and Morris Park between Malvern Avenue and Haverford Avenue, Cobbs Creek Park between Haverford Avenue and North 67th Street, and North 67th Street between Callowhill Street and North Gross Street. The southern border is Arch Street at North Gross Street, bordering Cobbs Creek Park at Upper Darby's border.[1]

I went to Beeber Middle School...You also past a house I lived in on Woodcrest Avenue...By the way Will Smith live on the same block I live on..just not at the same time. My grandparents moved over to the Wynnefield area back in the early 70s. They said it was beautiful back then I've seen some pictures of back in the day. They lived on Woodbine Ave. I know from history Overbrook Area was considered a rich area for Doctors and Lawyers in the 1920s. Especially with those large some run down Mansions around that area. Either way so much history in Philly

At the 6:44 time mark you are literally looking across the street at the house that Will Smith grew up in as a child. I know what I'm talking about because I lived right around the corner in the 59th and Malvern Street block ... the front side of Dimner Beeber Jr. High. This is actually the "Wynnefield" neighborhood area and we are separated from the "Overbrook" area by a bridge and railroad track(s).

Hello welcome to the channel. You must be new. Thanks for the feedback, however I went like 50 tours straight reminding the viewers how slow I was going. In many areas 5-15 mph. Sometimes 18mph. Occasionally 20 miles per hour when there’s traffic behind me rushing me 😂🙏🏼 but while everyone else is doing 35-45mph. I’m casually slowly driving at 10-15 mph. Any slower people gonna get out their cars pissed 😹. In most of my tours you’ll see people flying around me because they are impatient. Or even beeping rushing me because how slow I’m driving. 😅 appreciate the comment have a good day 💯✊🏽

Ive did this neighborhood a few times as I mentioned in the video. Each time I approach from a different section and cover different blocks. Hey bro I realized your a kool smart down to the earth that kinda thinks like me 4 the most part and I grew up in san jose California all my life and u in Philly but they say smart minds think alike so hey 😉But anyway I to this day got a opioid addiction im trying to shake my stories prob just like everybody else's im from a broken home divorced parents got into a lil bs when I was young with the po pos but hey 👋 most kids do sometimes.You made me think 🤔 like what my real motivation to even start my addiction really was and I myself have just gone into some deep thought about it. I still have a apartment I share with my bro so I guess I function and still hustle to keep a roof and feed my addiction which ain't easy I don't know what a 1 bedroom apt is out there but here the median\poor mofos start at 2400 hun a month not including utilities its fuckin outrageous. I bet u couldn't tell cuz ibeen here all my life and in the last 20 years the cost of living has skyrocketed hard but the quality of life here sucks plus the drugs and the homeless are everywhere and I don't judge nobody cuz similar to wat u said we as regular people are a week to a month away from sleeping our asses on the fuckin cement u feel me. Thank God I haven't fucked up or got fucked over somehow where that would be the only solution.plus I git a 11 year old son who deserves better so im trying my hardest to get my shit together but I gotta try harder cuz I think what else is keeping me afloat is the thought of letting my son down and as far as I know I've kept my problem from him but nothing last 4ever and I need to man up and really b done with the bs and trust me bro it gonna b prob the hardest thing I've had to do in my life but this time I'm planning it out cuz I think if u have a plan that u dedicate yourself too no matter what from the beginning there is no excuses or making other reasons to bitch out during the process I have to tell myself no matter what this has to happen and being a bitch just ain't a option.BUT if u read this maybe u learned someten bout me cuz I learned a lil bit from u 2 and knowledge is everything in my opinion. I think the row homes are interesting. I don't think that's good for the people. Boston also has row homes and they also have issues. I'm watching still but it seems Nobody owns any land. It's townhome style. But I am not there and I don't know.
