Interesting tour on many levels...those Brantwood apartments look creepy but have stood the test of time and decay. The 1876 world fair made that neighborhood

You were in my childhood stomping grounds...Girard Avenue, Stiles Street, St. Bernard Street, Thompson Street. At Lancaster and 48th I could see the steeple of the church I went to, Our Mother of Sorrows. Went to the OMS school as well. During recess, somebody would sell soft pretzels and chocolate milk...so good. You passed Old Cathedral Cemetery where my grandmother, grandfather, uncle and Old Nick (all from Italy) are buried. It brought back so many memories. We lived right across from the cemetery...Grandmom used to take us to the cemetery for picnics, and she would tell us ghost stories. My grandfather used to work at that cemetery. Your tour of Fairmount Park was great. My favorite place was the Japanese House...so pretty in the spring when all the cherry trees were blooming. Belmont Plateau was another hangout for me. You were sooo close to my old house at 49th and Girard. My Uncle Breezy used to hang out at the White Horse Tavern on Lancaster. There used to be a big billboard there advertising RIpple Wine. I'm probably wrong, but I think it used to be 99 cents. It's sad to see all the trash. Every day the women on my block would come outside in the morning, scrub their stoops and sweep the sidewalks. Us kids would play double dutch as the women cleaned things up. Thanks for taking me home.

You missed the chance to show a legendary basketball court off of Parkside about where 52nd and Jefferson is. Dr. J Allen Iverson and Kobe Bryant played on that court off of Parkside Avenue. Right in Fairmount Park! There is a KZbin video that shows the game where Dr. Julius Irving played with other legends at Parkside
