I think possibly including some of the financial districts offices to blend in the medium density European with the super tall skyline might look good. I know Egg doesn't like the financial offices but they have an older look to them especially on the bottom and a few of the towers look pretty good as an older style skyscraper.

So glad you are still doing cities 1!

Rannoch is really coming along beautifully! One nitpick: you have two bus lines going by the Grand Library, but neither one stops there. If the building is being given that much prominence and space, I would expect a dedicated stop right out front, even if it is close to the transit hub.

NIce combo, Egg. Old Rannoch survives, right next door to the CBD.

I think the placement of the catherdral at 12:08 makes more sense, since it look odd for the highspeed rail to develop right next to it. The placement even allows it to be an oddly shaped square of sorts.

The downtown looks sooo nice. 😮 I think it’s the best you ever built. I love the mix of skyscrapers and European buildings !

A pretty nice old town! I think the area of the Grand Library that you said you wanted to let breath a Park Life park would look great. Rannoch's own Central Park. Given how dense the old town is a nice large park would be a great addition

perfect choice puttin the uniques and college assets so close together with the euro zoning! might blend better together by adding in some brooklyn blocks here and there. great episode!

Wow that was a quick week. Maybe instead of old town we could call it Eggerton?

great build overall. But my pet peeve would be the lack of some medium density buildings, it might make the old town blend in more with the modern skyscrapers.
@rellyrelishes3 сағат бұрын
Yeah exactly. The drop off is a bit too drastic and stark from the skyscrapers to the European assets. Needs some medium buildings

I dont think any European city would allow elevated heavy rail right next to a cathedral and historic city center

I'm a bit disappointed, although I really like the combination of liberal arts college and old town. The School of Education in particular needed a lot more space. It feels completely enclosed now, I would have liked a lot more green space here. You have so much space, I don't really understand why you don't give the whole building more room to breathe. I think it would have looked better if you had made the zoned buildings rectangular and put the unique buildings on the odd shapes.
@veronikakoprivnjak78164 сағат бұрын
That is why this whole region looks so realistic. In every European city, a building like this was built right next to other ones. I like that.
@OettesCities3 сағат бұрын
@veronikakoprivnjak7816 and this is not the truth. Most landmarks - even in European cities - do have greenspace around it. The palace of Westminster, L'Elysee palace, Sagrada Famila, the city hall of Vienna, the national museum in Prague. And if they don't, like in Brussel, it's hard to rebuild without mods. Not because we can't build them next to each other, it because they don't look the same. For this reason I would always put a bit of something between it.

The zoning of the old market town looks quite phallic. So inspired by that, and by way of a challenge, would you be game enough to do a small red light district? I'm sure you are capable of getting the right tone and language. Just thoughts. But if you think this is not correct then no worries. However, if it hasn't been done before then CS glory awaits. Continued best.

@OverchargedEgg I am new to Cities Skylines (better late than never) and have been learning by watching your videos. Do you keep a list of assets you recommend? I've been having bad luck with old assets I find in Steam no longer working.
