Hey egg, random tip for industrial.If you zone 2x4/3x4 the are warehouse.They could be used.Some are 4x4 but you can’t really force them.All 3x4/2x4 are warehouses.They could look cool in your type of industrial detailing. Edit : Just remember that one of the Japan packs with buildings (Not trains) have offices that could be like halls and administrative for the town.There are ones for towns and Cites.They could be a cool feature but some are a bit too big.If you want to you can add them.You don’t have to but they would be a nice addition though.

I'm putting my vote in for subways/metro! If you plan to eventually have the downtown where you want it, it would not be unbelievable for a metro line to reach out to this initial suburb, and it would be a very modern approach to metro design with a big interchange station at the highway exit to incentivize people to park and ride into the city. Since you did not use metro as much as you used trains in Orchid Bay, I think it would be interesting to see you use metros as your commuter trains! You could take some inspiration from the MTA's Metro North that uses trains similar to the in-game metro ones.

I'm really loving this build! Specially the forestry brush selection! I think it would be really cool to have the Tram run down between the couplets, it would also be super fancy if you switched to the Monorail once you cross the river to give a more futuristic side, specially if you're going to have a Night Life neighborhood. But whatever you choose i think it'll be really cool!

I kinda like the notion of a monorail to make it a little more "City of tomorrow" vibes but also pedestrian tram roads probably allow you to add more activity between the couplet so might be the better idea for giving more options going forward.

What do you think about putting back Neon Raceway by ELFL for a couple of episodes to the detailing timelapses? It reminds me of early Orchid Bay, nice memories. :)

The wider couplet could be a transit corridor that services multiple types of mass transit or it could hold smaller units of an interior business corridor hidden by trees.

From a geometric/symmetric point of view, a monorail is probably the best shout for the couplet, since there's a 1 tile gap in the middle, and I'm pretty sure monorail tracks are 1 tile wide. That being said (and this would be a waste of nodes I'm sure), a two-way bus system could be done, meeting up with the pedetrian bus roads kinda like you did with the trams in Orchid Bay. Where you have two opposite flowing bus-only ramps meeting up at Pedetrian Roads for the stations. I know it's twice the nodes, but my OCD wouldn't allow me to build that asymmetrically lol.

So awesome to start another journey with you Egg. The historic train station and high speed rail unlock when the transport tab opens or when the metro unlocks. Trains and rail network planning way before the trains are available it would be awesome if a rail line could run the sleepy suburbs for a while on the couplet.

Great start Egg! When you dropped your trailer I decided to start a new city on this map. I went with the same couplet system idea and an oblongabout. Up to about 15K so far but loving the map and exploring different ideas.

17:50 FYI, CS:Remastered on console does have options to change the visual look of both ground and water pollution separately. In addition to a Hide option, you can actually make them all sorts of colours, such as neon green and hot pink if you prefer

I'd say one of the pedestriam tram roads from plazas dlc to start, later flanked either side by monorail once the city grows, with tree lines either side to separate it from the one-way roads

Great to see you back with a Cities vanilla build. I would vote for a monorail, just because it's unique and the ego-stroking project a narcissistic city planner on a power trip would have. I'm not sure if you're familiar with Robert Moses, but he essentially made NYC the city it is today (and arguably said narcissistic city planner on a power trip). I can imagine the cim incarnation of him having a house at the waterfront along the bay; overlooking the bridge he designed and flanked on either side by the public beach park and the monorail he built. And as you're visiting his house, you are struck with the realization that you are surrounded by all the monuments he has carved to himself, so he could build the perfect house with the perfect view.

I think depending on the vision for the type of zoning etc, it makes sense to have a buss or tram going down with the couplet, and then have a metro or a another high density transport going on the bend towards the down town. Having a grounded metro in the transport hub which then elevates gives the layers of hights we're always looking for. Maybe we could add trains later down the line too as some sort of first stop into the larger downtown and city, sort of like Sundbybergs trainstation in Stockholm.

I love the idea of a metro running down the couplet! Here in São Leopoldo, Brazil, we have a metro in Rio Grande do Sul, the state where I live, called Trensurb, which runs exactly down a couplet that runs down from the capital, Porto Alegre to Novo Hamburgo, a big city, it extends between 8 cities and is a really useful form of transportation in which I use every day!

I started a similar build on this map - the annoying part here is the 11-space gap between the roads - it means things cant necessarily be even-centered. So, my thought was to have tram on one side, and then also a walking path and a bike path that went along the whole way, like a spine. The walking paths could have tunnels to get off the spine and onto a "rib" (if you will), and the bike path could maybe be elevated so it can also easily cross the streets without interrupting traffic. This would all lead to a hub, where you can then change up to metro or monorail (which is my personal fav) and then have the monorail go down a commercial corridor (since they are loud)

We’re all so excited 🎉 Just wanted to let you know that in Valdivia (Southern Chile) there is a beautiful university (Austral University) surrounded by a thick rainforest and a botanical garden. The city itself also has a great quay along the Calle Calle river; it has markets, ferrys, and sea lions!

Especially if you opt for trams along the couplet (but really anywhere you end up implementing them), it would be awesome to see a return to the detailed tram stops. You had some really cool designs in your modular build series. You always provide great detailing, but I think it would be cool to have some type of set look/branding (probably not the right term) for the tram stops along prominent lines. You know, something immediately recognizable, be it a park café and info booth at each stop or whatever. Looking forward to whatever you do.
