Little late to the video posting date, but i've just gotta thank you a bunch man. I've been looking for PBO offsets and similar numbers to relate to do it myself and after such little info decided to look around at others all-core stuff, and you were the only vid out there showing your own walkthrough that helped me get to doing this, without having others numbers and methods to relate to I didn't feel fully safe pushing it. So far gotten 4.3 at 1.325 with 60-65c temps on 21 hyper cooler but clocks started dipping a little bit more the lower under 4.3 the lower i went so pushed back up to 1.35v for now for 4300 all core. Maybe ill push further/lower voltage soon but only gunna enable it when gaming anyways then default for normal use. Thanks again for the unique one of very few walkthroughs out there making this simple for those a little scared off to do it on their own.

@jasonstektalk61094 жыл бұрын
Wished mine would run at 1.325 my chip is a little power hungry it likes 1.35. I have ran it at 4.35 mhz at 1.40 volts but when i try and go 4.375 I shut down. I would go 1.45 volts and try again but this is the main processor I use for all my video editing and stuff so don't want to take any chances with it. Once I get another backup chip i'm going to see how high I can get this one. I use cinebench R20 because it is harder on the chip if will run R20 more likely it will be stable than R15. The overclocks I record are stable overclocks after torture testing not just apply and boot and call it a overclock.

@@jasonstektalk6109 Arent these voltages unsafe for ryzen 3000? Buildzoid damaged his 3700x at 1.35 i heard
@jasonstektalk61094 жыл бұрын
@@zulk9mahmood821 I follow buildzoid on KZbin of course and I have never seen anything about him damaging his cpu at 1.35 volts. Some motherboards default voltages are 1.4 volts without updated bios so i don't see how that is possible. After some testing it has been shown that ryzen 3000 can run with much lower voltage than previously gen Ryzen. So lower is of course better. I ran my ryzen 3600 at 1.4 volts for about 2 months and then 1.35 volts for about 3 months with no negative effects. Given that Ryzen has never given actual safe numbers for 3000 gen processors it is all trial and error and all I have to go on is experience. I did find one article that said they had found some small degradation after 6 months at 1.35+ volts but that could be just normal everyday wear and tear. If you read most of my post I tell everyone to try and go as low as possible with their stable overclocks when it comes to voltage as no one knows for sure what is safe per the manufacturer. As I said I just go by experience. I have seen overclockers put much higher voltages in the new ryzen cpu as high as 1.6 volts and they did not up and die but that is not to say I would ever do that to my personal system as they are pushing them to the limit and I'm pretty sure they wouldn't recommend that high of voltage to a product that wasn't disposable to them. Thanks for your comment. Like seeing people asking the good questions. again thanks for the question and comment.

@@zulk9mahmood821 I did find a buildzoid video with him talking about degradation of a cpu from overclocking but in his case he had ran 1.8 volts through the chip and broken down the oxide layer inside the chip. Slight chance of slight degredation over time. But as long as you keep your voltages below 1.35 volts and no high temps I think the lose wil be unnoticeable considering we're talking about taking let's say a month off the lifetime of a computer that's going to last for physically it'll probably run for another hundred years as long as you can find a motherboard to run it in so it'll probably be out of date and unusable before it dies

Do I need to close the tab for the overclock to stay or is there an option to keep the overclock no matter what
@jasonstektalk61094 жыл бұрын
If you are referring to ryzen master once you apply the overclock you can close the window and the overclock will stay until you restart your computer or you go in and change it.

Jasons Tek Talk so basically every time I get on the computer I need to overclock with Ryzen master?
@jasonstektalk61094 жыл бұрын
@@charleschen1979 You do have to reapply your ryzen master settings everytime you log into your computer. That is why I recommend moving those settings to Bios after you have stable numbers.

@jasonstektalk61094 жыл бұрын
I do disable PBO in Bios but you don't have to unless you are getting stability problems in which case I would try and disable PBO for sure.

Once you transfer everything into the BIOS and set the OC from there, should you leave PBO enabled or Not?

I have done it both way with no change in anything. I prefer to disable PBO but if you don't it shouldn't be a problem.

i checked my Vcore on my msi bios. it was at 1.376V to 1.38V at auto. is this normal voltage for a ryzen 3600 at stock settings?

with PBO it will get as high as 1.48v why I like a good static OC at about 1.27v.

What kind of cooler do you have. I can't get past 4100Mhz without the temperatures reaching as high as 95°C. If i set it as 4200 on all cores the PC restarts and the overclock resets

I am using a thermaltake Water 3.0 w/280mm rad but I have done the same overclock with a Gammax 400 air cooler as i said in the video i wouldn't go past 4.2 without atleast a good after market cooler. Have you tried reseating your cpu and checking your thermal paste. Unless you are running some long stress test it shouldn't get over 80c with a good air cooler under 100% load. Which during normal use gaming etc you shouldn't ever get that hott. If you have anymore questions hit me up at jasonstektalk@gmail.com and maybe I can help you. I will try don't want you to damage your cpu.

I'm kinda new to overclocking.... Am I lucky that I could set my voltage to 1.25v? Personally I chose to stick with 4.2ghz, when I tried 1.375 I was getting around 80-85 degrees on Cinebench. When I tried lowering it down to 1.25 though, my temps were just on the 70s.
@jasonstektalk61094 жыл бұрын
1.375v is way to high for Ryzen 3000 for daily use. I would try and keep it under 1.35v.

@@jasonstektalk6109 Yes, I'm just sticking with 1.25v for 4.2ghz this time. Does setting the voltage way too low could also cause issues like crashing?

@@Cris-P-Bacon Yes if you set it too low you can crash but 1.25 to 1.3 sounds like a good voltage range to be pretty stable.
