Awww Cee. I feel so bad for you. We have ALL had those kind of sewing projects. I could feel your frustration. I will tell you that the dress looks beautiful so far on the dress form. Don’t forget to try it on along the way. I believe in you! I’ve been known to stay up half the night just to finish something so I can wear it the next day. Keep plugging along girl… you got this!❤

😂😂😂 I debated on if I was going to keep it in the video, but then I realized it’s just my raw, real reaction to sewing and why should I exclude it? 😂

I am so with you. I love the actual sewing of a garment but all the leading up to it parts are so hard but necessary. Actually time sewing is a fraction of the work but all the joy! I appreciate your sharing your experience. ❤

Oh I am so sorry for your frustration!! I have discovered that sometimes an 'error' works out better than my original plan. I am hoping that is your case and that you absolutely love the length of your dress. You are a very good and enthusiastic sewist and I am sure that your makes will be lovely!!

Girl, you got me dying laughing at you vent. 😂😂😂 I think it's a good thing you didn't get to sew the first day. You needed to step away from that sh*t sew. 😂😂

😂 I debated on if I was going to keep that part in the video and then I was like, “Nah, this is my reality. Keep my channel authentic to my experiences and the sh*t bombs.”

I enjoy watching your videos. Your feelings are understandable and You Go sis!!!! for getting over those stresses. Now for some advice…unless you have created a muslin to ensure a correct fit, you did 3 hours of work for show and/or experience. I only caught a quick view of you holding the dress up against you in the mirror. The things you mentioned fixing during part two can only be corrected in the drafting/cutting stages. Your bodice needs to fit your body shape before putting in a zipper. Btw a cleaners will sew in a zipper for you if you need them to. Your neckline cannot be fixed in the end if you want a nice clean finish. We know anything can be added or subtracted while sewing but is it wearable to a formal event? If you have a problem with the fitting of the bodice now, unpick the skirt from the bodice and fix it before going further. If you need help you can call me. I don’t like giving advice without offering to help. The dress you chose is a very simple dress especially since you are lining it. But it can end up being difficult if the bodice is too long/short. Everything from the straps to the positioning of the darts will not off if the bodice (the main portion of the garment is not fitted correctly. Misaligned darts will create a gaping neckline. Patterns are created with a particular body shape in mind. They then create larger sizes for that body shape. This is why most new sewers end up with creations that do not fit without adjustments. You already have the sewing down. I’ve seen you hack patterns creating some nice wearable garments. I know you can make your dress. You just need to adjust the pattern to your body.

Listen….its still all good. I think when we have functions and we would like to make the garments. …..carve out 2 or 3 months before to begin making the garment. Making sure we have enough of whatever. Then once completed…take it to the cleaners. Finally let it hang until ur ready to wear it. I did the same thing. I had major errors. Stuff just be messed up…I look at others on their channel where 😮 lines are sewn straight, cut evenly and therefore arrows match up, buttons holes are evenly sewn. I’m like wtheck what am I doing wrong 😂😂. Needless to say, as you did ….start over (reset). Love you in the moment😊😊 Have fun sewing…..

The moment I saw past you talking, I knew things would go horribly wrong. And I know that feeling too well. Just made a blouse, the bodice fits but the sleeves are too small and I don’t feel like redoing the sleeves. I hope you find the courage and creativity to continue the shirt dress.

Thank you so much! I definitely appreciate your understanding ♥️ I hope you find the energy or desire to redo those sleeves so you can wear your blouse 🤗

I feel your frustration as cutting is my least favorite part of garment sewing. Today is August 24th and I’m sure whatever you’re wearing, you look gorgeous and have had/are having a very special time at your brother’s wedding! I mean, you chose such delicious fabrics!

I’m glad I kept working on it because the pattern length is insanely generous! It ended up being a maxi dress!

Your frustration was palpable, and I would suggest giving yourself 8 to 12 weeks to make an outfit for a special event, if not just to reduce the stress as sewing is a slow art, and there will be bumps along the road. And, Don’t let the execution of the project be held hostage by the pursuit of perfection. But pace yourself. You got this. That’s a beautiful dress on you. Stunning color.💁🏾♀️
