I lost my son Jan 12, 2024 due to cervical incompetence. Unfortunately my failing cervix was not discovered until I was in labor which was on the same days as my anatomy scan at 18w3d. I hope to conceive again soon; my dr mentioned I will get a cervical cerclage at 12 weeks next time.

Thank you for doing this video. I am starting week 25 today. Week 20 length was 3.5 which was not a red flag and then 24 length was 1.1 and doctor said too late for stitch. I am taking progesterone 200 mg vaginal supplements each night and on bed rest position with legs of bed raised. Hoping this increases cervical length. Eating foods with fiber and getting up only to go to the washroom and praying. Hope it goes well. Jan 31 is end of second trimester long way ahead

Are you doing good?... Maximum doctors will suggest progesterone vaginal suppositors or tablet after stitches to strengthen the fetus and to avoid preterm. Ask your doctor why they didn't suggest it for you. Get second opinion from another doctor as well

Hi.. I got the stitches at 24 weeks when the length was 2cm. It’s been a week since then. I’m having twins and the baby movements are not so clear daily. I started feeling the kicks just a couple of days back

So after stitches because you are on bed rest the baby moments will also change, it won’t be in the same pattern as it was before stitches. What I used to do is when the nurse would come to give me progesterone injection I would ask the nurse to get the heartbeat monitor along and she would check if the heart beat is normal. You can do that or wait for sometime and get a scan done

I had a bed desk on which I used to keep my laptop and work. I was in inclined position when working for 20/30 mins then I used to lie down for 45 mins to 1 hour. It was okay for me. But depending what level you complication is and if in scan you get to know that cervix gap is increasing or if you have getting frequent pains then it’s best to not work and be on bed only. Inform your office you can’t work or take LOP for a few months n

I had a lot of pelvic pain like I could feel the pain in my bones. I dint go for check often. 1/2 times I had gone the doctor checked and once she thought it was infection and I got few tests done it was all okay. Pain to extreme pain in pelvic region (like I could not walk at alll) is normal. But if you feel something does not feel okay then go to the doctor and get scanning/tests done.

I have also undergone a cervical cerclage surgery last month and have been told strict bedrest . I do use washroom and walk till the dining table and back to room . This much I think is working for me and I keep lying all the rest of time . I would say try use a chair table to eat after a month of the surgery and not walk extra but till dining table and washroom is okay

Hey all the best! Don’t worry just take loads of rest. 1. They did not give any tablet to stop blood discharge, blood will be seen for about 2/3 days and it’s nothing to worry. 2. They don’t give antibiotics for anything during pregnancy as per my knowledge(please check with your doctor), however they did give some pain killers and vaginal tablets so we don’t get infection. If they did give antibiotics it’s probably a vaginal insert and not to be taken orally, again please check with your doctor.

Nothing can ensure that cervix length will grown. Taking progesterone and getting cervical stitch will ensure that you go until 9th month safely

Usually doctors tell that in cases like this it’s gonna be normal only if there aren’t any other complications. I had a normal delivery so it totally depends on the condition at the time of delivery

Thanks for explaining this in such a detail, my doc also asked me to follow the same step as she fears of pre term, though I do not have stitches but she has asked me to lie down in elevated position of legs. Just had one doubt though did you use to drink water while lying down only? I was thinking if I should get a sipper or something

You can sit on the bed and work. Have a bed desk to keep your laptop, make sure to lie down every 30 mins don’t sit for too long. Try to sit in inclined position with your legs stretched and not folded. Have someone to massage your leg and feet at night before going to bed

Hey sorry for replying late. At bed rest I just made sure to be on bed all the time except for when I had to go to the washroom and the washroom Was in the same room. Also, while taking bath I had a stool on which I would sit and take bath I would not stand for long.
