Sincerely admire your courage Jon! Some of those attempts looked really risky. I guess I need to start doing spines as well - will start on a very very very small one first. The one you tackled looks frightening. My 10-year old does a 6 foot spine as if it is nothing...
@JonBishopSkate4 жыл бұрын
Wicked dude! many thanks for checking in. yeah they are a fascinating obstacle, the more you look at them the more ridiculous it seems to tackle them, but it’s fun when it comes off!!
@CarlBeatty4 жыл бұрын
Another good techniques is to go straight up to it and just push a tail stall right into the spine. It seems harder than it is. It would be like doing a blunt but you keep going forward.
@JonBishopSkate4 жыл бұрын
Great!! I was thinking of trying that, but I’d like to get my blunts just a little better first, 3 in ten I miss the lock and scoot across the deck scraping the tail, it’s fine on a deck, but I can only imagine it would be pretty unpleasant on the spine lol !!
@mattstanbridge4 жыл бұрын
Good memory. How on earth do you remember what you went through on any particular attempt? You're obviously describing the attempts on a different day or session, it's just a big blur for me after the session is finished, even if I filmed it.
@JonBishopSkate4 жыл бұрын
Hey dude, Many thanks for tuning in. Yeah this was all the same session. I started at 5am as this park is super busy and the light changes a lot from 5am till 7am. I did some of the links as I went and then some as group at the end.

Jon any chance you can do a video on not feeling like a dick when your skating @ 45 in a park full of early twenties and younger? My local was packed tonight and I found it very difficult to not feel a little out of my comfort zone and out of place.🤣🙈
@JonBishopSkate4 жыл бұрын
Hey dude, yeah that’s a tricky one. I wouldn’t know where to start with making a video on that lol. If it helps I feel that my experience has been one of inclusion. Today I skated with my four year old son, and pretty much every age group in between topped off by an OG over 50s skater. My experience is skaters will give you respect for riding and pushing your limits wherever level those limits may be?? I hope that helps ??
@Brusselsproutsk84 жыл бұрын
Longer story Jon than the bit above but basically my two boys, one skater one scooter rider started scapping over the scooter in front of the whole park. It got a bit embarrassing to say the least especially when I lost my cool and swore at them both🤯 probably the first time ever I have swore at the directly😪. Just made me feel i maybe too old to get starting skating again🤣

@JonBishopSkate4 жыл бұрын
Crikey!! That would be pretty full on !! I recon I know how that would go lol
@dominationproductions49654 жыл бұрын
Jon Bishop yeh that is a good suggestion you just need enough speed so you can lock you tail into the blunt and put your weight forward to transfer over it is pretty much dropping in then - never done it on double coping so that may be the only complication
@JonBishopSkate4 жыл бұрын
Yeah it’s a great idea! Just nibble up to it, the worst would be going too far up I recon ? I sometimes slide out onto the deck on my blunts, which is not too much of an issue with a deck, but it could be pretty uncomfortable to do that on the spine?? I need more practice to get confident that I could nail it !!
@Skate_483 жыл бұрын
Start by coming up to blunt on a part with the platform at the top. Once you have that take it to the spine. You'll learn it in an hour it's easy. My boys are nine and learnt it in a half hour.
