Can I just say…..as a 60 year old woman…….if you don’t have a BURNING desire to have children, don’t feel that it’s a must. I always had it. I had my children young, then a great career, and now have grandchildren but I honestly feel that some have children because they think they’re meant to. Not fair to the children nor the parents. Having said that…..your happiness with your lives shines through, and you’d be wonderful parents should it happen. Also, as a 60 year old woman, I don’t believe in forever homes (for us and for people like you) because you’re reflective people who enjoy growth and are happy to acknowledge when your tastes change. We have had our desires for different lifestyles change several times- and are again in the midst of another. I love that we are fine with acknowledging that we no longer suit what we wanted ten or fifteen years ago. It’s growth. And I feel that you’re both the same way. Lovely vlog !! Hilarious at times.

Beautiful couple-I am 70 years old in Las Cruces, New Mexico-been watching you for years and love you💕I had my son at 39 and he is the love of my life. It’s great to be a parent after so many dreams are fulfilled. Follow your hearts. One child is very doable and gives new experiences full of love and keeps you young. Never had a dog, so getting my Samoyed Snow White in June. Thank you for ALL the joy you bring to my life. God bless and keep you both.🥰

Deciding to have children is a very personal decision, if you choose to, you will both be incredible parents - you both seem to have SO much love to give!!! Will children change your life, absolutely - but much like adding animals, your heart will grow in ways you couldn’t even imagine. Parenting is the hardest, most rewarding thing I’ve EVER done!

My husband and I just let a child happen naturally, I was 38 when it happened for us, I lost that one, a year later it happened again, we only have him. It took us 10yrs. If it didn't happen, we would have been fine with that too. Babies for some are everything, we didn't have that belief. Family or friends pressure is ridiculous for a couple, who would be just fine, and Happy without children. Thanks for the updated Q&A you guys are a fabulous couple.

You will know if you want a child (or children) when that desire becomes the most important thing in your lives. Otherwise, if you cannot say this, do not bring a child into this world. A child deserves to be loved beyond measure because he/she is a precious gift from God.

I’ve been following you both since before the move and the journey has been so inspiring and a joy to watch, thank you for taking us along with you ♥️ I am a parent to a now-toddler and I am almost 35. Given how thoughtful and intentional you both are, when and if you choose to take that step to have children, I suspect it will be a very natural process for you. There are always ups and downs and unexpected things that occur with starting a family. But all things being equal, I have found that intentionality, being present, and also having the right support team (family/friends, and also professionals to support your health or help with stability like pediatric sleep consultants, etc), makes family life feel manageable and you can just lean into the joy of it all. Wishing you both the best ♥️

Lmao! The kids question, yesterday my partner and I were looking at our son stuffing food into his mouth in his high chair “I adore him, how does he even exist” there are days where you marvel at how incredible they are, it literally seems like they’re made by magic… and then there are days like today - where you wake up and just think, I don’t want to do this anymore, I’m done… I just want to wash my hair without him trying to tip over a plant or try and get in the shower with me, or have a sudden fascination with the loo brush or touch a hot radiator 😅😮💨 But he makes me laugh so much, and as someone who really wasn’t sure if they wanted kids, the contentment and peace it has brought me as an individual has surprised me. It filled something in me I never knew was missing, and I think i would have been content without him, it was just at a different level, if that makes any sense at all x

Loved this video!! You two are such a joy to watch, your connection to each other is fabulous and Ali's dad jokes are the best! If you don't have children, trust me, it's ok 🙂 I think the whole "you're married now, it's time for kids" is ridiculous. Sometimes the desire just isn't there. We are just as happy with our sausage dog Zena. And I agree with the forever home thing to a degree. We lived in Texas for 15 years, I knew that home was not our forever home. For one, it didn't feel like home. Moved back to West Virginia and "thought" we had our forever home. Loved it. Wanted to do all these things to it and just settle down and be there forever. Then 2020 hit, the year of pure hell as I refer to it. We lost my husbands parents within 4 months of each other (cancer, not covid) and we ended up moving into the house they had bought. NOW, we are in our forever home! Home is where you hang your hat but, you gotta love the home your in. And you have a fantastic home!! I now want chickens, lol.

My parents got married, raised 4 girls and got to see their 3 grand children and 2 great-grand children play in the same house for over 60 years. I believe it's easier not to be attached to a house, when you come from divorced homes. When your parents are single they are likely to move around, which would have some influence on your thoughts towards constantly relocating. I do believe I am very lucky to be able to visit my parents in the home I was born and raised in, I also feel home is wherever your loved one's are. Thank you for sharing and being so honest with us. Sending Love and Happiness to you both.❤

thank you for your fun and candid conversations - so refreshing! also, i've been thinking about whether I want to be a mother as well. like, it's something i thought i wanted my whole life, but then i started thinking about why. like, how much of that was just society's expectation that you're supposed to have children? how much is it me genuinely wanting them? and i have so much respect for you guys just going "We don't know yet"! especially because you're being realistic and honest with yourselves about it, and putting little people into the world is something i feel like you should be certain of before doing. also i've been thinking a lot about whether i want a life with kids. honestly, i think it's very much gonna come down to a) whether i find a partner and b) whether that partner wants kids or not.

Your happiness is infectious - I thoroughly enjoyed this video and wouldn’t usually comment but wanted to thank you for including the question on whether you see children in your future. I had previously been under the impression that you were choosing not to have children, but hearing you say that it just hasn’t happened gave me a bit of hope - sorry if that sounds strange but let me be someone who says, having a child is a beautiful experience and I believe you two would be fantastic parents! It definitely is not too late if you did choose that path. Wishing you many many more years of blissful happiness xx.

Loved!!!!! Please do again. Yes, freeze eggs. One day you may feel something is missing when you’re older. My aunt did. She had an exciting life full of adventure and was afraid children would change her lifestyle. When she and my uncle were older, both had strong regrets. Things change she said when you’ve been everywhere and there isn’t anything she did without. A certain loneliness seeing her friends with big families and grandchildren caused sadness and loneliness for them.
