Overdyeing can reduce contrast for sure. But you can also have fun with combining wild mismatched things

Heavy speckles overdyed on tonal yarn is now my new favorite. Dare I hope to find one in my Chanukah packet? (I know you can't tell me, but what a delightful surprise if there was! And, if not Chanukah, then maybe next summer...)

The one big key difference to this colorway and myself dyeing a speckled over tonal yarn is that the original tonal yarn he was reskeined - which isn't a step I'm likely to do myself ;) Which isn't saying I won't do something related.
