@@ohemaz best part about thrash though is that most of those bands are still around and touring. seen overkill twice in this decade. not a lot of glam or pop bands from that era still touring with rabid crowds but true metal ain't going anywhere.

I was there also ... 1 pm show Nuclear Assault and Maliah Rage opened ... I saw so many bands there .. I was there for Spinal tap ...prob my Favorite memory... 81 to 89 was my favorite time there

I was at this show, was only my 2nd "concert" I was 15 this show was awesome, I believe Meliah Rage and a couple other bands opened. I remember there was a fight in the parking lot after the show between a fan and someone from a band called "Burnt Offerings" who was banging on Overkills tour bus.....when Thrash ruled the world.

@@phantomfox3488 they are the greatest, they did not play at this show, as a matter of fact I never saw them play the channel I always saw them at Deringers, the paradise, Narcissus and the Living room in RI.....I saw them play the Middle East at one of their anniversary shows and the bayside expo center for a ThrashFest on new years eve one year....that show was amazing

Bobby Gustafson 😕IMO they're never been the same without him. There's a reason all the "classics"are what people want to hear at shows. They lost that true thrash feel when he left. They're still a thrash band but now you'll hear more groove metal influences in ALOT of their new songs.

All it is... is an overdrive pedal before the Marshall poweramp. Not hard to get that crunch at all,... it's how he plays that gives that crunch it's extra artifacts and characteristics. Someone's technique has a lot to do with their tone as well.

God I miss Bobby. IMO their stuff after he left the band just doesn't compare. It took two guitarists to replace him and they're still not as good.

yes booby was their best guitarist ever i can understand what you are saying ,but blitz IS also a great vocalist and D.D is one of the best bass players in thrash metal.

@@19megamustaine85 I fully agree. I just think Bobby's playing/writing was more thrash. Look at albums like I Hear Black. Total garbage. Even in their thrashy songs now, they always seem to pop in a groove metal spot. Mean Green Killing Machine starts great and then goes off the rails in the middle section.

I don't care if they so called sold more albums after Bobby Left, They Lost a crucial part of Overkill when Bobby left imo that's why it took 2 guitar players to take his spot.
