I don't have any background in off-grid on wheels rebuilds , but do watch a number of sailing channels and was wondering if using marine type applications would last longer than RV type applications since what's used on boats have to withstand constant motion and intense environmental conditions.
@drivetheglobe10 ай бұрын
Absolutely true. I pretty much use all marine grade electronics and accessories on board.

Oh and it looks like once you got the initial holes drilled for the mirrors and all that “puckering” out of the way it was all down hill from there. You REALLY went to perforating the girl after that. 😂

Are you going to move the rear wheels further aft? Depending on the weight cantilevered behind the rear axel it acts as a lifting force decrease the weight on your steering axel which is dangerous. It certainly looks like you exceeded the amount of vehicle extending past the rear axle, you CG is not in a good place.

I am not. The truck was designed for this from the military to carry a fully loaded twenty foot container. I never recommend changing vehicle drivetrains or major components. Been there done that with plenty of jeeps and land rovers and always ends in sadness.

Still blows my mind you're not the guy who bought the one with 2 slides.

I looked at those, don't like the way they fold in. Would be nearly impossible to build out the habitat the way that I like.
