Used the T3X on a solo road trip into western Canada and Alaska. Camped out for 2 months with a small few of hotel nights for the showers..lol. The Gazelle performed flawlessly and was a very comfortable home for one. A cot along one side. A table and chair on the other and it was very nice accomodation when then weather got wet.

I've had the T4 overland for about 2 years and I love it. I had a RTT before that and honestly I'll never go back to one simply bc now I'm spoiled by how easy my T4 is to set up. When a RTT is 7 or 8 ft off the ground is a total pain in the a**. Never again. And the gazelle company are some of the nicest folks in the world. So easy to deal with. Highly recommend any of their tents.

Gazelle is very good quality. I bought my Gazelle T3X from the Overland Bound store three years ago. I call it the Nylon Cabin. Cot, table, and chair all fit inside. I could probably fit a camel in there, too, but obviously that’s more of a Moab trip than Teton.

My go fast camper is up and ready in less than a minute compared to my T3 ( and the T4 that I sold) that takes a couple of minutes more (I am old and move slow lols) to set up. In certain situations, it is easier to use the T3 if you need to be using your vehicle to run for errands or just wanna drive around to see places without the hassle of taking it down and popping it up every time! Gazelles are a game changer!

I bought a Gazelle T4 when I was in between RVs. It sets up in 30 seconds and I can do it by myself. The dogs dont help much because they dont have thumbs and are usually busy grab-assing. I've had the tent in rain and snow storms and it is solid. Throw in a Mr Buddy heater and the tent is toasty in two minutes. I have to crack the windows to regulate heat. The only thing I had to get used to was the unusual doors. Great tent.

Nice video, you can also get these in a waterproof quilted insulated type with stove jack and removable Velcro in floor, good for all year round camping/overland trips and the best thing about this hub type tent is that they can be pitched anywhere even on tarmac and strapped to the vehicle wheels, they make a fantastic sideroom, for everything from showering, lavatory, kitchen, or shelter from the elements for trial bike repairs or maintenance to just hanging out if it's raining, I've a hboa brand, similar to the gazelle, 6'6" squared only weighs 18.4kg 140cm long, great piece of kit, enjoyed the video, 👍🚙👌🇨🇮☘️

I have had a T3 and T4 regular and Overland Edition and I did love them. In my opinion they could improve them greatly by incorporating some sort of awning into their design. There is just something special about having that fabric overhead while sitting in your camp chair sipping a mug of joe in the morning. Or watching your fire from a distance while sitting under the awning being somewhat shielded from a light rain or misty drizzle. I now have an Oztent RV3 and yes they are pricey but I have more ground tents then you can count, large and small, in all different types of materials from rip stop nylon to GoreTex, to Duck Canvas and in my opinion you cannot top the Oz Series for ease of set-up/take-down, durability, comfort and modularity. But.......the Gazelles are bomb units and for the price point, do also make great Overlanding units!

Agree, I have a different brand with a front awning - it is my favorite feature & use that space more than the time I spend inside the tent. There is a rain fly - it’s separate in the bag and should have put it on. It’s very easy to attach. The tents are incredibly robust in the wind. @Toubabou
@Toubabou Жыл бұрын
Definitely never done and probably a choice many are trying to do I opted for the Gazelle, price was not the consideration. Oztent has greater quality fabric and details justifying the price premium RV was too bulky for me (don’t want to buy a roof rack to transport it, lift and bring down that huge weight) I live in a windy area and mostly camp 1 or 2 nights and move on: RV is a better base camp, not a quick install at all once guy ropes, fly,screens and panels are involved Some people hate the doors, it’s not practical but has a huge great benefit: little dust or sand can get blown in. Packs easy with ample space I am very happy with my Gazelle OL apart from : 1:very pointy stakes, lost half the protection on first trip, they damage the carry bag. 2. Lining up the flysheet can be fiddly Warning, in very strong winds, the roof may collapse (not a big deal with Guy ropes all around) Oztent would be my first choice in some camping situations, I just don’t do that camping enough to be burdened with set ups times every camp.
@jeepncj7
@jeepncj7 Жыл бұрын
@@Toubabou Thank you for the response! I agree that the Oztent is huge and heavy. I found out many folks buy the cheap kayak mounts and use that to transport the RV. For setup time and door size, were you referring to the gazelle or Oztent?
@Toubabou
@Toubabou Жыл бұрын
@@jeepncj7 I was talking about the Gazelle’s door: it has a funny odd shape that narrow at the bottom and require to step in (but that height prevent dirt entry) Entire set up time (all guys and stakes) would also be quicker than Oztent with all stakes (before all panels etc).

Great review thank you. We love large cavernous tents and this one's advantage is that the longest dimension is still just 12' which is the typical max length of tent pads in our area. One key detail that we would really love to know is, what is the width and height of each hex side? For the height, it's relevant because often the center of the tent has something like a bed covering the floor, so we're curious if one is standing closer to the wall, say 2' away from it, how high is the roof at that point?

So, they look great! But…once you spread the tarp down, set it up with the poles now for the door, stake everything down and put on the rain fly…it’s not 90 seconds. Let’s race sometime with my soft shell RTT.. you’re not going to be saving time. Great video, still a very cool product for the right application. I just look at setup time as setup start to finish and I’ll bet it isn’t faster.

If you're camping on the ground a hub tent is better. That's ice fishing tents for cold weather with Otter or Eskimo. Gazelle is in control of the warm weather market. There are some alternatives for cold and hot weather. They're just fast. If you need to warm it up or just get it set up quick. If you're hiking in refer back to the old ways.

90 sec? I call BS! That's what was said regarding the T4 overland and the total time for setup is similar to a pole tent as the foot print staking down, the tent itself plus staking it down and finally... adding the rainfly and tying that down is not included in the setup time estimate. Try all that with a wee bit of wind.. it's even worse. Great marketing hype tho.

90 seconds, timed. That includes the high speed floor layout and cut-away. Does not include staking or flytop. So bare bones set-up is 90 seconds. really hate it when people claim one thing and deliver another. Or when the leave steps out. Is it a fast set up? yes. Is it is 90 second set up? no. Edit to add. I guess I should have watched more. That timed 90 seconds did not include the door frame poles.
