Continuing east on our multi-week Utah Overland adventure, we explore in and around Capitol Reef and encounter a few challenges along the way.

Mountain House??? The reason I started overlanding instead of backpacking was so I could carry a gourmet kitchen! That, and losing a leg in a motorcycle wreck. Capitol Reef was a lot more crowded when I was there in Sept.

Yes, I fully admit that I'm a weirdo for liking Mountain House as much as I do. Haha.

Agree, Capitol Reef is overlooked for sure. And SR 12 from Torrey to Bryce Canyon is the most scenic road in USA. You did miss the slot canyon on Burr Trail, its about 12 miles off SR12, well before the switch backs. And don't overlook the state parks in the area.

If that coffee stop was at the Kiva Koffeehouse, I agree it has amazing views and some of the bet coffee in all of Utah!

Haha yeah I know. Corey is such a good sport for tolerating all our stop / go and filming shenanigans .... but I feel bad shoving the camera in his face.

And thats triple locked! wow. We got stuck 2 weeks ago in soupy mud and I wished we had a winch. A lot of digging and we got out, we got lucky😆 If Christine doesn't like mountain house I wonder what kind of face she does when she eats MRE's especially the pizza version 🤢🤣😂

Capitol Reef is the best overlooked place for spectacular canyon country, especially in times when most famous NPs are overwhelmed with visitors That and also San Rafael Swell
@WheretoNextOverland
@WheretoNextOverland 5 ай бұрын
Without a doubt! We need to get up to the Swell. Still haven't made it there, but it's definitely on our list

@@WheretoNextOverland Add Robbers Roost (Dirty Devil River Wilderness) to that list as well It’s all relatively nearby, overall this is the most spectacular and remote corner of canyon country, IMHO

Super awesome series of videos. I’m gonna start a trek similar to this in a couple weeks. We’re gonna spend a few days in Sand Hallow then hit Zion and a few other national parks.
