I finally found a channel that doesn't make me feel like a loser because I don't have a brand new rig and all the latest gizmos from Overland Expo. I have no idea how you guys can have that much fun in those old rigs. Lol.

Man that’s exactly the experience I want to show. Such a bummer how commercialized it’s become. It might just be that I’m a utilitarian but I don’t see the need for all the extra gear!
@BobSweet-h4q2 ай бұрын
I never comment on anything. However, this is worthy. Stunning video skill, stunning scenery and most importantly--down to earth people with everyday rigs that a majority can relate to. Keep it up gentlemen and thanks for the effort.

Took me forever to realize that NM had places like this to offer. It really is special and has to be much more secluded than many places up here in CO. Thank you for sharing these great shots from down South!

Thanks for putting this together. After watching your video I had you add the Valles Caldera spot to my Western Road Trip hit list. Last month I made that trip. Approaching from the east I was stopped by snow above 10,900 ft...8 miles short. I had to fall back and circle around an approach from the West. With some unsolicited help from a local rancher, I was able to make it. What a breathtaking location...I have to admit I was a little misty. Coming from Florida, they're just aren't views that can compare to this. Camped there ovenight. Spent hours glassing down into and around the Caldera. Without you putting this content out there, this guy from Florida would have had no idea I had that such a place even existed.

I’m glad I could assist! That spot is beyond sweet, huge change from Florida scenery!

What a fantastic area. We just came back from Colorado Springs on I-25 thru Raton and the area is beautiful but now I know what all that mountain area around there looks like...thanks for the tour. Looking forward for more!!

I’ve always passed through wondering how the mountains look. Now I know and I will return. It’s such an under appreciated part of the Rockies.
@kwmoore3464 Жыл бұрын
I agree with your issues concerning the side by side vehicles. Goose Lake trail is so narrow & there is so many of them it makes it a real chore to get to Goose Lake. For some reason there seems to be a boatload of Texans there too. You should plan a trip to Valle Vidal. It's North of Red River and it's remote enough where you won't be bothered by other people. There are beautiful views similar to the Valles Caldera area. Thanks for posting your trip. I even recognized some of the trails this time.
@Whitedogoverland Жыл бұрын
You nailed it, 100% all Texans. I don’t blame them for wanting to get out of that flat state but man was it rough passing a gaggle of 4 every couple minutes. It was well worth it though.
@joandonnelly72069 ай бұрын
@Whitedogoverland NM girl living in Texas, you aren't wrong. On any given day nothing but Texans passing my mom and dad's headed to Angel Fire, Red River, Eagle Nest. They live in Guadalupita, NM on 434.

I was just over there exploring the Lincoln and Carson National Forests. Very beautiful area. I have been up there several times over the last 6 years because it's within a days drive from Dallas. I agree about the traffic. I went during the week and was surprised how many people were on the trails. Luckily I didn't come across anyone while navigating a tight shelf road.
@Whitedogoverland Жыл бұрын
That area is something special. Unfortunately the closer you are to ski towns, the more traffic you’ll find. It’s certainly better than CO which is prettt blown out these days.

If Jack is interested…..I’ve got a rough country winch plate and shackle mounts for 88-98 OBS K1500’s designed to fit behind front bumper that should work on his ‘burb? Bought them several years ago and never installed on my 94 K1500 that I no longer own. Been looking for someone to give this stuff to and use instead of me tossing them into scrap metal. I’m located in Tucson also.

Yea Man, I enjoyed the video. Thx for sharing. We’re all out doing whatever it is we enjoy and area’s get busy. You’ll have rookies, locals, vacationers, dumb ass and all the rest at popular trails. Part of it really, what ya gonna do? I “try” and dispersed camp far away as I can and I trailer a SxS to ride trails. SxS are fun for me, more comfortable on my old ass 52 yr old body and presents more exploring opportunities on tight side trails. I’ll move camp every other day or two on long trips. So I see both sides. Subscriber here, your video’s have great content and you do well narrating. Would enjoy seeing more of White Dog in the vid’s.

Many years ago I learned that uphill has the right of way, be it walkers, hikers, cyclists, bikers or vehicles. Thus backing down the hill for a bunch of side by sides just doesn’t seem right. Might be polite but rude on their part for not getting out of your way as you were the ones coming uphill… Unfamiliar with your channel, but I like your content so subscribed… Safe travels
@Whitedogoverland Жыл бұрын
I usually just assume right of way to whomever has most lug nuts in convoy but recently figured out uphill has the go. Thanks for the sub!
