Never thought about the size of my serger thread. Will have to really look at it, tomorrow. I usually use a light & a med of two neutral threads on my serger BUT change that is sergering on dark or white fabric.

I need to find out how to do adjustments for each thread (spool) and which thread does what. Would you be able to provide a video to show us all, how each spool does what? It easy to figure out. There's are left and right threads and upper and lower loopers.

Just follow your threading guide and place a different color of thread on each area. There are two needles and two loopers. When you use a different color thread in each you can easily identify where each thread is in the overlook stitch.

Hi does serger thread always come in that 50 weight? If it comes lighter, can the air pressure type serger machines have issues with lighter serger thread?

I've known several people who use serger thread for piecing because it comes on a large cone. I have never recommended that. Do you?

If a cotton quilt shrinks but polyester thread doesn't, would that affect anything? What about stretch serger thread? I bought some but I'm not sure when to use it. I might try it on undergarments.

A trick i was taught years ago is to serge the cut ends of my fabric cuts before washing and it was amazing how it changed the outcome. Less warping and shrinking.

Is serger thread generally okay to use for most sewing? This Mettler product sounds like great stuff, but I often use unbranded serger thread that I can buy cheaply locally for piecing, quilting and clothing repairs. But I'm no expert, I just wing it when sewing, so am I doing something unwise (stupid)?
