Thank you for this demonstration. I do have one suggestion -- I would have found the examples of the stitches more useful if they had been in a colour different than the fabric. I really couldn't see the differences with the white stitches on white fabric. I know that a person generally does use the same colour thread as fabric for ordinary use, but for a demonstration it would have been easier to see the differences if the thread had been another colour.
@JasperJanssen Жыл бұрын
Better yet, 4 different contrasting colors, so you can see all the separate threads.

Me too. I’m autistic so I hope this comment isn’t inappropriate (I’m never sure) but it might be worth mentioning if YOU can’t do something due to your disability that you qualify that. I heard you say “ you disengage that but I’m not going to because it’s so difficult to put back.. or words to that effect and I started to panic I’d bought a rubbish machine but I kept watching and realised it wasn’t the machine per se but how awkward it is to do with just one hand. Ryan… I applaud you. We struggle with 2 and you just get on with it. Good lad. (I’m 67 so I CAN say that). I learned SOOOO much by watching to the end. Thank you so much.

Thank you so much. I'm just getting used to an overlocker, so far I've learned how to thread and use the basic 4 thread stitches. Excellent Video Ryan!! I was Taught to Sew at an early age (Mother was big on us having many strings to our Bows so we were self reliant) So with an Ordinary Sewing Machine I'm well away, but, coming up to 60 now I inherited a Singer Overlocker from my Mother, who recently passed away, and quite Frankly it gave me the Screaming Willies, 🥵 🤯 until i seen this video, now I think I'm in with a chance of actually getting some back burner Projects Done using it (custom Fishing Rod Sleeves, Hammock Underquilt & Topquilt) and also getting them to look like they were not made by a troupe of blind Monkeys would be great, I had better start watching more of your vids & Practising hehe 😀 😀

I hate my serger. I honestly dont feel like i can control it no matter what i try. I've watched a million videos and i get it in principle but i just dont seem to be able to control it to just sew straight. Using the seam guides are useless as you can't really line up the edge accurately as the machine is so fast even when you are going slow. I feel so much more control over using a sewing machine but the serger is just crazy and i want to be good at it 😢

I've never actually seen these machines before, so I know nothing about how to use them. Someone recently gave me a used one (with no manual). My friend's son found one online & got it threaded for me, because the instructions are too small for any human to read -or- get badly distorted if enlarged. Frustrating. So I'm here to learn the basics before I begin my first project. Your video was very helpful - Thank you! (May I request a contrast of colors between the thread & material for your future videos?)
