Heck Ya!!!! LOL! Anytime buddy!!!! Hey, I'm just stoked this is 20 minutes from my house... although Mohican, Zaleski, Wildcat, etc.. are great, it's awesome to have a place close to get away for a night!

Not a bad start at all added bonus they allow hammocks. Hopefully this does well for you guys and more areas like this pop up.

No fires or hammocks allowed. I live in Cleveland and was able to see this for myself. My impression was that it's for people looking for the first "backpacking" experience. If you're already into backpacking look elsewhere.
@RESTLESSOUTDOORS6 жыл бұрын
Thanks for your comment Patrick! I agree, that event over the weekend was tailored for beginners... but, the sites are at least a start! No fires stinks but heck, we're doing a 100 mile section in Shenandoah in a couple of weeks and they don't allow fires either! Oh well...par for the course I guess! Bottom line, I've lived in Cleveland all my life... growing up in Slavic Villiage, Brecksville Metroparks was always a weekend getaway for us... that place was heaven to me as a kid! 😂... and the fact that now they allow overnight backpacking.... it's like a dream come true!!! Thanks for watching!

MUCH NEEDED IN NORTHERN OHIO! LOOKING INTO RESERVING ASAP. WE HAVE PLENTY OF PLACES WHERE BACKPACKING, TRAILS, AND CAMPING COULD BE POSSIBLE. THANK FOR THE INFORMATION AND VIDEO AMIGO. IT'S COOL TO SEE YOU AND I HIT UP MOST SAME PARKS OFTEN.

Thanks so much TrailBeaner Adventures!!! I agree with you 110%... imagine what this could possibly bring!!! Heck, Lake County put up 2 overnight kayak camping sites on the Grand River... that in itself is amazing!!!! Thanks for watching!!!

Hope this is a start of more to come! The Metroparks started allowing MTBing a few years ago and that took off like a beast!!! Who knows!!!!
@trailcat716 жыл бұрын
The Lake County Metroparks has about 9 or 10 campsites in various park locations available by reservation. They are primitive, BYO bear cable system but nice! Some of them are even canoe-in sites!
@RESTLESSOUTDOORS6 жыл бұрын
Heck ya Trail Cat! I was just made aware of the canoe in sites last week!!! Amazing! Will definitely be hitting those up this summer!!!

Hey, no problem!!! Make sure you check out are overnight video at Brecksville too!!!
@CatherineGregoryAdventures6 жыл бұрын
Very cool! I assume it's dry camping? If so, that may discourage people too if they have to carry in water. Very nice option if you don' have a lot of time to get away, but you need to sleep in nature.
@RESTLESSOUTDOORS6 жыл бұрын
Thanks Catherine! Yes... its dry... but, a water source is nearby... around a 1/4 mile back so not too bad... and now fires...😢... but, at least its a start! 👍and yes... this beats setting my tent up on my deck for a quick overnight! 🤣

Well done video Adam. Great information and I’m happy that you all got some sites now. Maybe Cleveland will eventually become a hotbed of outdoor activity in the future. Was that your 16 mm? Quality was outstanding in full sun
@RESTLESSOUTDOORS6 жыл бұрын
Thanks Chris! Believe me.. this was a long time coming!!!! Cleveland also has a pretty extensive MTB trail system that continues to grow... so who the heck knows!!!! I hope so!!! LOL! And yes, that was the 16mm.... but, had to use an ND8 lense filter.... that sun was intense today!!!

Cleveland wouldn't be my first choice for a backpacking destination, but if you live there then obviously the more options the better! Cool bear poles!
@RESTLESSOUTDOORS6 жыл бұрын
😂... I agree! But, its a great start... hope they make more sites available... I think the Metroparks will be shocked at how many people will utilize these sites!!!

Come to think of it I forgot to add in 1996 I must have done almost 300 miles in a 7-Day mountain biking track yes on the Buckeye Trail NO I did not know that there was no mountain bikes permitted on it at that time. I looked around with my bike approximately 58 pounds or more food water and park tools so I can do any fixing that is required simple maintenance of course and on top of that my camera gear
@RESTLESSOUTDOORS6 жыл бұрын
Wow! That's hilarious! 🤣 I bet it was an amazing trip none the less! Ya, that would be awesome if they allowed MTBing on the Buckeye Trail!!!

Nice! Something I need to check out. Do you guys get any bears from PA?
@RESTLESSOUTDOORS6 жыл бұрын
I think they are making their way up from Southern Ohio.... had a few bear sightings for a few years now... but I would guess they came from PA as well! Who knows.... never encountered one... yet 😂
