Thanks for the review! I did this trip too and for me, it was a terrible experience because I had to board the train at Katowice but it was delayed by 2 hours as well so I had to wait till almost 2 am at the station with many homeless beggars. I had a shared compartment and the people inside already slept and had the compartment locked so I had to find the conductor, explain the situation, etc... However as a Czech I would like to clarify some details. The delay is not on Regiojet's side but usually on the Ukrainian Railways because this train is a guaranteed connection to the IC train Kyiv - Przemysl. Also you mentioned that the loco is 160 km/h enabled but you weren't going anywhere near as fast. That is probably not true because between Bohumin - Prague, the train literally goes 160 km/h (maximum speed) most of the time. And the last thing, while it is Regiojet's fault, toilets are most of the time clogged by passengers within 1-2 hours after departure because they get clogged by paper towels (there is a warning sign not to throw paper towels to the toilet but people ignore it), after that Regiojet's staff close the toilets and put a sign of malfunction on the doors, what people say, it happens literally every journey.

Thanks! This time, the delay was a technical issue that needed to be fixed at the Polish-Czech border. The attendant made that very clear. The delay was 10 minutes in Krakow and almost two hours in Bohumin. Not sure whose fault it was in the end. The train was doing 140 km/h for a very short period but for the rest of the time, it was doing mostly between 90-100 km/h. However, the slower speeds might have been due to the heavy snow that fell throughout the journey. Cheers!

@@JackRoaming Oh thanks! That sounds like a catenary/voltage issue on the railroad, hence the lower speed and delay at Bohumin. Normally, pretty much all long-distance trains do enjoy the maximum speed at this section for most of their journey. Hope you enjoyed your stay at Prague!

Great video and super useful! I am a planning a trip to Poland/Czechia/Slovakia/Hungary next summer and was wondering about potential train connections between the countries. This really helps!

That bathroom looks like it went through WWII. Glad the dinner/lunch was appetizing though.

Excellent review! The train looks old but the condition seems to be fine. And the price is great. In the UK, you pay that much for a 3h journey...

When was this filmed? I'm in Prague since Christmas and we didn't have this much snow like in the vid.

Great video! Planning a solo travel from Krakow to Prague and wondering where to spend my time before boarding the RegioJet at 0058. Is the station safe late at night for solo travellers waiting?
@JackRoaming11 ай бұрын
Thanks! Yes, it is very safe, plenty of passengers and police around at night.

Czechia is an artificial word that doesn't exist in English invented by non-native speakers. Native speakers of English were never consulted or asked if they were OK with this.
