When I tried them the first time I damped my hair a little, applied some hair oil and left them for just 30 mins! But still they turned out really really good I was so happy for the second time I left them overnight. Ps- The longer you tie them up for the longer they'll stay that's why I observed although I liked the first ones better they didn't stay for long ^^
