As a pre teen, I used to collect lots of fire wood with a neighbor in Colorado USA. he would cut into 6-8 ft lengths then use a rope to tie ( choker) one end then I would drag through the woods holding front slightly elevated to camp. Ends up being easier labor very fast and especially when going downhill. Much better than lift and carry all day

I'd like to see a video on all the ways to make natural cordage in your area and the different barks and trees that can be used this way. I know once you know how to make it, you can just tell if a tree or plant is suitable without knowing the species, but it is still useful to know beforehand and skip the screwing around.
@Cetok013 жыл бұрын
Your camp is really expanding. However, it's only "secret" until someone walks nearby. If you want to keep it, you may want to consider transplanting some local bushy shrubs and (medical) weeds outside the perimeter. As it grows, it will hide the camp better and you'll have a close supply of certain medications.

In the forest things are rarely a secret. Many critters pass through who seldom meet. It is wise to know that while it is secret to you, it might not be to others. I was coming up with a primer on making a trail that is hard to spot from the road when I realized that I am the kind of person who looks at things hoping to uncover mystery and that I am not alone. You can reduce the number of people who can find your secret but never really stop it from happening.

Armand Zottola: Lilly. FYI…here in southern New England the wild animals have returned in most towns. Moose, deer, eagles and bears are a common sight. Occasionally…even lions, and further north wolves too. They have learned to line on garbage and the food chain grows richer.
