Firstly: there are risks with visiting an old fire tower, if you visit it is at your own risk. If you are unsure about the safety refrain!
I spend the night in one of Sweden's highest fire towers, 20 meters above the treetops in Hälsingland's large forests at the end of January. The Belså tower was built in the 1950s and was used as a fire tower and has a mile-long view of forests and mountains. After the rather difficult hike up the mountain, I climb up the tower, enjoy the sunset and cook raggmunk with pork. The temperature drops below ten degrees below zero, but I'm warm in my winter sleeping bag, and the sunset is amazing.
