Lifestyles of the rich and famous. I'm really loving this boating aspect to your channel. You're choosing great music for these videos, too. Nice work.

Another great video Ray. Would love to see a video in the future of you guys docking the boat. A single engine trawler with that bow thruster would be cool to watch.

That's a really nice spot. I wonder if the current/tide driven generator is still in place outside the channel. It was a study from the University of British Columbia around 2017. There's also a really nice hike to an old growth tree on the far side of the hangout on shore. The family that has run the resort/restaurant for more than one generation are really nice too. Local music on summer weekends. These places survive with difficulty.

Sounds like they are still using diesel generators with hopes of tidal in the future www.cheknews.ca/province-invests-2-million-in-tidal-and-renewable-energy-research-at-uvic-1147709/

Nicely done ! You are in the perfect area to have a 'trawler' style boat. Numerous inlets, islands and strait's to cruise around. I'm missing my boat even more now.... Even though I'm fairly close to the mouth of the Columbia it's a long run (lots of fuel) from here to there though. (time to get a reverse osmosis water system? )

Hey Ray, thanks for the video. I was curious about the Starlink? Can you get reception anywhere?
@LoveYourRV

Yes, as long as the sky isn't blocked by too many trees it seems to work anywhere we go. No problems with trees on the boat so it works anywhere we have been.

Just asking, what are the Laws in Canada about wast tanks. Black and Gray. And how do you guys find Fuels. Love your Boat videos.
@LoveYourRV
@LoveYourRV Жыл бұрын
Gray water discharge seems to be accepted except in nature refuges, some parks and marinas. Most boats have no gray tank, just a black tank. Black tanks (ours is 25 gallons) can get pumped out at some marinas but they are not wide spread in these parts so people often dump the black tank using a macerater pump when far off shore and in fast flowing waters. There are books like a boaters yellow pages we have that list fuel docks. Many marinas have one. We have 250 gallon diesel fuel capacity so don't need to fill very often. Cheers, Ray

So during your video, there was a US Coastguard ship you videoed; what are they doing in Canada?

Likely passing through on the way from Alaska to WA state is my guess. Looked like a cargo carrier. I saw a large green marker buoy on the deck so maybe they were transporting it somewhere.

Another question.....! Where does the power come from at the marina?
@LoveYourRV
@LoveYourRV Жыл бұрын
The marina has power outlets on the docks to plug into just like in RV parks.
@timclosson7166
@timclosson7166 Жыл бұрын
@@LoveYourRV I understand that but their power comes from a power plant somewhere and that is a remote location so do they have overland power lines or is it generated by a local diesel generator?
@LoveYourRV
@LoveYourRV Жыл бұрын
@@timclosson7166 As far as I know, it is currently a diesel generator, but I read that they are studying acquiring power from tidal action in the future. www.uvic.ca/news/topics/2023+bc-tidal-energy-for-a-clean-energy-future+news

What is a U.S. Coast Guard cutter doing that far north? Does Canada allow American military ships to patrol their coastal waters.? Why wouldn’t Canada’s equivalent force do that?
@LoveYourRV
@LoveYourRV Жыл бұрын
It's likely transiting the Canadian waters coming from Alaska is my guess. Its a much safer passage between the islands than on the open Pacific Ocean. Had a big green marker buoy on deck. Looked like one of these en.wikipedia.org/wiki/USCG_seagoing_buoy_tender
