He was pretty solid in AoE 3. He came out of nowhere with his great casting a year ago or two, love the guy, solid showrunner for sure. Killer pigeon was also a surprise for me in wololo, he had great insights and casting too.

So many things about this comment are wrong. 1) Conq 3 does not mean the player is top of the world because your rank goes up as you play; 2) In Drongo's case, he got rather good at AOE4 by this season, independent of being Conq 3 -- he got Conq 3 without needing many games due to his elo; 3) people can know what they are talking about without being top 10 or even top 100 elo and that was true even when his elo was maybe ~1500-3000 when he started casting.

It's amazing how powerful Szlami was considering his villager deficit. 1TC + hunting cabins + 5 relics + HTH > 2TC Song. Since each vill is not free but takes 50 food, it takes a bit of time for that ROI to come through. But sooner or later you hit max vills (say 130 vills) and Szalami can keep making vills to neutralise that 2TC + song, and he still has all that passive gold generation. So really there's not really a window for Leenock to ever attack in where he's better. Maybe if he Drushed a BBQ or something when Szalami had no units? Dunno it's a hard one to counter.

Pretty much what you said, a drush of some sort was necessary. And would have been lethal, Szalami hardly took wood and invested all in hunting cabins early. Of course it's hard to pull off with all the rus scouts and especially on this map so would most likely not played out that well. On the other hand it was impressive how good Leenock defended. An earlier castle and better farm placement as Aussie suggested could have kept him in the game with less losses and being able to at least prevent the sacred victory.

This is a great map for Rus but if you want to talk about overpowered (at the very highest levels), let's talk about China's eco. Notwithstanding all of the advantages the Rus had here China's economy was still better even with all of the pressure Szalami was putting on Leenock. If Szalami hadn't gone for the sacred site victory he probably still would have lost in the late game. There was a game on this map between Demu and Leenock and Demu played everything perfectly - he took almost every hunt and had the High Trade House, a bunch of hunting cabins, 600+ bounty, 4 or 5 relics, and he still lost in the late game to Leenock. I wouldn't have believed it if I hadn't seen the game.

Not picking Rus on Hideout semes like an outo lose, if rus can age up faster then HRE and out boom 2TC Song with no problem then there is some thing clearly broken on this map, that has nothing to do with "beeing favored" on a certain map, its simply broken.

I think they should only nerf the 1v1 version of Hideout. You need that bonus for RUS in teamgames to counter any trade the opponents do and both teams can always go with 1 RUS player to cancel out the advantage

Honestly, this game proved why China is overpowered. Should of been a walk for the Rus - but turtling and China is just so OP. I absolutely hate playing against China, especially FFA or 4v4 games they just boom and then they're impossible.

I am too lazy to do the math for perceentage to be correct, also stats probably don't count mirror anyway
