I heard someone make the statement that not everything should be automatically reviewable, but everything should be challengable. And if the automatic review doesn’t cover it in the last 2 minutes, you can still throw your challenge flag.
@jasonvo78515 жыл бұрын
Overreaction. The issue with challenging every call to address the non-call NFC Championship game won't resolve the issue. It wasn't because the refs made a bad or wrong call on the play. They didn't make a call. So now if any play that happens, even when there's no calls, the team can challenge? If there's an incompletion on 4th down, can an offensive team challenge a ticky tacky holding call 2 yards from the line of scrimmage on the other side of the field? Likewise, if it was a crucial completion, should a defensive team be allowed a to challenge "holding" or push off by the offense player? Cause if you go by the book, almost any long pass where's there's tight coverage, you can probably find a ticky tacky hold or push off (by either offense or defensive players). it might be minor but if you review in slow motion, you can probably find some contact. It might be 20 yards before the ball arrives, but beyond the 1 yard allowance for contact.

Reviewing every play is ridiculous!! Four 15 min quarters already takes 3.5 to 4 Hrs to play, and that's the least of the problems that would stem from reviewing every play... I'm actually dumbfounded that Eisen took the "review all" position on this issue.

Thinking the Lakers might not miss the playoffs is not an overreaction. They're currently 9th seed and without Lonzo and LBJ and Rondo. Even if they do make the playoffs, they will most likely be playing the Warriors first. So, good luck with that.

If the NFL wants to save time in their games they can cut some of the obnoxious commercials. Half of a football games is hysterical people trying to sell you things you don't need, and it makes NFL football almost unwatchable. And meanwhile the argument against reviewing plays is that the games would be too long? I watch almost all my football in YT highlight videos now because I can't stand the overcommercialized broadcasts. Can't believe I'm the only one.

@JBS50225 жыл бұрын
No the new challenge rule should be for every type play only in play off games. Regardless when the play is not called in the game inside 2 minute warning or whatever. The Reason I say only in play off games is because during regular season games you always have next week to go on to win. But play off games are a one game deal...you win you go on... you lose you go home...no next week. But if you have a challenge situation more than three times, the critical issue might fall after you've burned all your challenges. So the challenges have to be extended beyond three. And should also can be done anytime during the game....no matter what amount time is left on the clock...if there is an infraction and you feel that the call or the lack of a call is appropriate then challenge it. Challenges also still work on a loss of time out if your challenge is not turned over or not ruled in your favor.

You think Burkhead and Sony are gonna do something? And as much as I respect Gronk and Brady, Gronk is not the kind of guy who is going to give you much anymore. He's good for one or 2 plays. Nobody on your offense is Michael Thomas or Kamara. And Brees isn't that much worse than Brady. You don't have a Lattimore either. It's going to be closer than you think.
