Which technique the best + what did I miss?? 🤔

Best tutorial! Loved the envelope follower with the infiltrator! A cool trick I like to use is duplicating the sub and putting it in a group with another sound. Then distorting that group and the sound will flutter to the rate of the sub, and you can cut the sub out afterwards. It can help make the sub sound heavy on iphone speakers

For the fl folks, you can do the spacing effect in patcher. First audio chain goes out like normal, second audio chain goes to your reverb plugin, then fruity limiter. This will allow you to have a self-sidechained reverb as a normal effect

You can also use ableton's stock sound grain delay for the first trick, then there is no need to resample, everything you need to make the effect is in the device.

🌟 Here is a summary. Thank me later, you got this! 🎨 Sound Design Techniques: 1. Sparkles: • Start with a melody, add delay, resample, pitch up, EQ, and layer with the original. • Use plugins like Bartle or Crystalizer for instant sparkles. 2. Sub Distortion: • Combine a sub bass with other sounds, apply distortion to the group for a crunchy effect. 3. Space Side Chaining: • Group reverb and delay, apply side chain compression to the wet chain, creating space effects only when the main sound is not present. 4. Granular Synthesis: • Use free synths like Granulator 2 (Ableton) or Quanta to create pads or unique sounds from small audio pieces. 5. Frequency Shifting: • Shift all frequencies up or down for unique effects without altering pitch dramatically. 6. Delay Pitch Automation: • Use built-in DAW delay with repitch option, automate time and feedback knobs for clean pitch shifting. 7. Layering: • Combine multiple sounds to enhance fullness and energy, ensuring they occupy different frequency regions. 8. Unexpected Plugins: • Experiment with plugins to find happy accidents, then render and chop up these sounds for new ideas. 9. Automations: • Use automations to make tracks more dynamic and interesting by moving knobs and filling transitions. 10. Soft Clipping: • Apply soft clipping to sounds crossing 0 dB for rich, squashed sounds, especially useful on drums. 11. Pitch Manipulation: • Use pitch automation to add expression and natural movement to tracks. 12. Tonal Delay: • Repeat small sound portions with delay, adjust time and feedback for different pitches. 13. Resampling: • Record sounds onto another track, then manipulate (fade, pitch, stretch) to create new textures. 14. Chopping, Stretching, Pitching: • Export and manipulate sections of the song, chop, pitch, and stretch for creative reshaping. 15. Effect Racks: • Create racks with multiple effects, automate parameters to evolve the sound continuously. 16. Micro Sampling: • Loop short sound pieces to use as playable instruments, even white noise. 17. Resonance Melodies: • Automate resonances to create melodies from samples by sweeping through frequency spectrums. 18. Multiple OTTs: • Apply multiple OTT compressors for exaggerated effects, then resample. 19. Sound Degradation: • Use hardware or plugins to degrade sound quality (cassette, EQ, distortion) for a retro effect. 20. Envelope Following: • Map sound waveforms to parameters, creating effects that play only when the sound is active. 21. Frequency Isolation: • Isolate specific frequencies from samples to create unusual sounds. 22. Vocal Chops: • Use samplers or manual chopping to create vocal chops, then add effects for interest. 23. Low Pass Distortion: • Cut high frequencies with a low pass filter, then add harmonics with distortion for added high frequencies. 24. Transient Shaping: • Control attack, sustain, and release of sounds, adding punch or making them tighter. 25. Sound Reversing: • Reverse parts of melodies to create better flow and connection in the music.

Cool random ass trick I found, idk of ANYONE else using it: Using the free Full Bucket freq shifter, have like 4/6 instances after another (An even amount is vital), all -5k. So, that just mangles the sound beyond recognition? Well, I have no idea wtf is happening, but turns out A minor still sounds like A minor etc. when put through this, your snare will still sound like itself, but certain frequencies just get kinda squashed, or something. It creates kind of a degraded sound, but it's unique from your usual lofi effects. When layered with crisp high end and a full body etc., it'll sound great in more hifi sounds too, it adds great texture. Try it on hats for a HUGE effect, high end seems greatly warped, try it on a clean saw wave and play different notes, try it on a whole bunch of sounds and you'll see it has some crazy cool uses. Also, I'd love to hear experiences with other freq shifters I don't have.
