I don't get it...If the franchises want him, they're willing to pay 25 Crores for Starc then what's the problem Idk why we Indians can't digest the fact that foreign players are going for much bigger numbers as compared to our players Look at it this way, ofc it's the INDIAN PREMIER LEAGUE but if you stop giving these big bucks to the foreign players, they'll stop participating in the IPL coz foreign players love IPL for 2 main reasons... first is experience and second is money and players like Starc and Cummings don't need experience, so if u want them to play the league you gotta offer big bucks to them and we all know that IPL won't be that big of a league if you only keep Indian players upfront for the battle Secondly, we are no one to question Starc's and Cumming's salary as compared to Bumrah and Rohit...Only Bumrah and Rohit can drag this point in the talk if they want... If they are okay with the fact, then there's no point of discussion And Starc is arguabely the greatest bowler of the decade let alone on his stats and his clutch performance in big games. Bumrah is good but he has been more injury prone and isn't as experienced as Starc. So if the franchises are paying for Starc's experience, that's fair in my pov. This rule might just impact IPL's popularity and fan following in a negative way.

@@sheshank3768 agreed... but other leagues let's say BBL and the Hundred... Aussies and Englishmen initially designed the system in a way that their own players get the upper hand. IPL didn't do that, it left a loophole in it's system right from 2008 and now they're trying to correct it... so the backlash they'll face is kinda inevitable. I somewhat agree on the audience and sponsership point you mentioned but let's not forget that if Indian players own around 87% of the viewership... the foreign stars are responsible for the rest 13% and players like Buttler, Cummins, Russell, Starc, Smith etc together account for that 13%, so you might just loose some part of that foreign audience plus the disliking from these foreign stars themselves for not being paid enough. And be honest, would you love the IPL the same way if all the 11 players in each team are Indians? I don't think so. Also a franchise can't force a player to stay if they wanna leave so someone like a Virat, Rohit, Bumrah is free to walk in the auction logically.
