@ last release I grabbed was synapses Trick or Treat 4K with no way of buying it unless I fancied paying £150 on eBay, using stackry and buying direct from synapse who wouldn’t ship to the UK and had Stackry send it to me, that still worked out cheaper than buying from Diabolik DVD who sold out in minutes I may add!!

I won't buy any movies from Amazon US anymore. My last order was a Criterion digipack. It arrived in a slightly padded envelope. It was pretty beat up. This has happened at least twice. I'd consider this service if I bought lots of movies but I've cut right down.

@@garyrobinson8665 I’ll be timing out using it. I’ve cut down on various pick ups over the last few months, also trying to be more patient. I think when I do use it, it will be timed out for the sales and for the titles I’ve been waiting on. No impulse buying or getting a load of extra bits just to make up a decent size order.

@@PhillwithadoubleLSounds very sensible Phill. I've bought a few over December which will keep me going for at least a month. Longer if I take my time. I need to watch the movies I haven't yet seen and also rewatch some. What's the point in owning them if only watch them once.

I've long considered trying a mail forwarder but didn't know who to trust and how it worked... very interesting video. Just a few questions (OK, quite a lot, sorry), *some* of which, I dare say could be explained by their site but I'll ask anyway if that's OK, as you have hands on experience: Is there an initial set up fee? (Obviously the $10 would offset this somewhat but if it was totally free surely everyone could do this and they'd be out of pocket setting up accounts and addresses for people who may then never use the service) Do they have a 'standing charge' for keeping you US address 'live'? Does the account close if you don't use it for a certain time? What happens after 45 days? Do they send what they have whatever, or is there a 'pay more to hold it longer' option? Do you get charged VAT?... _and_ do they charge it their end or let UK customs charge you, when the Post Office adds £8 for paying on your behalf; I believe you should pay VAT at some point if the item is over about £17... it varies from month to month depending on exchange rate. On those lines will they let you get away with £34 before VAT by claiming it's a 'gift' so the allowance goes up? (Dodgy, but I've heard of quite big US companies doing this to stay competitive... at least until someone tells them to stop). I realise VAT different that Import Duty which (IIRC) kicks is when the *Duty* is above a certain amount (otherwise it's waived for convenience)... it just comes out at around £120 goods (well DVDs/BDs... Duty is at different rates depending on what you're sending) before Duty is important. It's not _just_ the sales and items they won't export I notice... so often the US $ price is miniscule but gets inflated (by Amazon especially) if they send to the UK where they FORCE you on cheap items to buy through AmazonUK; as an example (not that you'd go for the US one since there's a UK one but bear with me), *Knives Out* Blu-ray on AmazonCOM is $4.99 BUT they won't send an old item like that direct from the site; they insist you click 'Buy from AmazonUK and get local support'... and $4.99 (£4 ish) becomes *£18.98* - yep, you'd get the UK one for £6.99 rather than importing but it's still _insane_ ... oh except the US one claims it comes with a slip for people who collect and 'obviously' the UK one doesn't.

@@blujustin4175 I’ll answer what I can but… I don’t have all the answers. There was no initial fee for setting up. No standing charge for the address. No idea if it closes after a certain time but im sure it would be easy enough to set up another (they’re not going to turn away customers) After the 45 days there is a charge for them keeping hold of your package, I think it’s detailed on the website. When I use them I’ll be making sure there’s enough coming to ship to me within that timeframe. No extra charges from their end in terms of VAT. Honestly… I’m not sure about the various import charges, I worked to trying to keep it under that £120 ish for goods and didn’t get charged any extra when it arrived with me in the UK. The courier service I opted to use was DHL so Royal Mail didn’t touch it. They also had the option of FedEx.

Not tried any other. The problem was Stackry were supposed to be one of the best according to my research at the time. They certainly appeared to be easy enough to use, but I just cannot abide a company that treats a new customer so poorly. @ if you’re going to be streaming a lot Matt, I 100% recommend looking at an Apple TV unit. The difference between that and the apps through a TV or other streaming sticks is quite stark. Apple TV wins hands down, I’ve also heard the Nvidia Shield is also a good option. I favour the Apple TV as digital purchases through iTunes / Apple often come with the special features & alternate cuts.
