Tip: Use a pole with a rectangle shape piece of cardboard taped to it. Use your drop spread on normal setting but hold the pole outward blocking the seeds in a crisp line between the property line. Not sure if you're in Minnesota, but it's been a record dry September here. I feel your pain. If you have a big lawn and no irrigation, overseeding this year is a nightmare. Homemade irrigation in small chunks is your best bet. You don't have to do the whole entire lawn at one time remember. But I do realize everyone's situation is different.

My rider also gets clogged. I got a pull behind lawn sweeper for free (market place pickup) and boy can I tell you that was the best thing I’ve used to pick things up. Is it perfect? No but it’s very effective getting the big clumps up then a quick pass with your bagger and voila. Give it a shot !

What make and model? You have me intrigued....!
@Maz7006Ай бұрын
@@lawnlifevlogs Agrifab is the make. Not sure model but it’s the 38 inch size. I recommend that size even on a large lawn (I have 14k sqft in the back and 7k up front) and I still find it effective. The smaller size helps with storage and also it maneuvers a little better. It carries a ton of of debris so you don’t need to empty it often too

Wow, that ride-on mower of yours seems USELESS in regard to the grass catcher and how easily it gets blocked. You need to do a deep dive and sort that out. How old are the mower blades? Are the wing components of the blades in good condition so you’re getting good air lift? Do you need to remove the entire black piping and give it a thorough clean? Are you getting good air flow through the perforated grass catcher box or are the little holes blocked with dirt and debris, which will severely inhibit air flow? If you’ve checked all of the above, you need to be contacting the service centre and asking for advice. If they can’t help, perhaps you need to trade the mower in for a newer and better brand. I’ve watched DOC and other large channels use ride-on mowers countless times picking up grass after renovations and they don’t experience the problems you’re encountering. That mower's causing you unnecessary stress and stealing your time. Good luck! 👍

He needs high lift blades

@@mdinatale12 You’re right… hope he checks the condition of his current blades for starters. Buying high lift if they’re available for his model would be an upgrade worth the small investment, and greatly improve suction and air flow.

I ruined my lawn with the bagger. Reno'd the front looked mint but the back left it as is. And the back is dog shit and full of weeds those mesh baggers must have transferred all types of weeds from the back of my lawn up to the front and those weeds grew 100 times faster than my new grass could and just destroyed the whole one side of my lawn I always start in from the back yard
@farquadshmoogle9120Ай бұрын
Sorry, but I know you wanna see soil. But if you see 95% soil only 5% grass, might as well call it a renovation than an overseed. You might as well have sprayed glyphosate on it after you dethatched to kill the 5% that was left.
