I have never liked any comedians before until Brad Stine came to my Christian University today and performed. I am so happy that there is a Christian comedian that is being watched by so many people.

The town he talks about is Puyallup (my hometown) and yes it really happened and yes it was dumb. Are we as a Christians going to let the wicca community take over or are we going to stand up for our beliefs and not let Satan worshipers destroy us? I say we stand and fight! Thank you, Brad, for talking about my town, making this more personal and encouraging me to stand up for what truth. I am 19 years old and needed it.

@garyconyers Technically, atheism is a legitimate classification of religion. Many of the traditional Native American religions, Buddhism, select groups of Hinduism, Secular Humanism, etc. are all examples of atheistic religions as none of these promote any god.

@PaisleyPlace Others have tried to show me and it doesn't work. I struggled w/ my faith, the Bible, etc. I was looking at other faiths that made me to think. I prayed and told God that if He was real He was going to have to show me. I struggled for 3 yrs, but He was faithful and even when I doubted He revealed Himself, just in everyday life. And just so you know, I am not going to live w/mom/dad. I have a boyfriend and we are making plans. So, yes, I can think for myself and I am independant.

@PaisleyPlace I am moving after Christmas to work on my writing career where I have no family or friends within 100 ml. Now, does all that sound very dependent and sheltered to you? I don't think so. I love to be out on my own and now that I can go live in a new place I am looking forward to it. Oh, yes, I have traveled before by myself outside of the Pacific Northwest where I live. So, don't assume you know all about me 'cause you don't.

@PaisleyPlace I learned alot and don't pity me. Christians are not foerbidden to even consider other religions. In fact, we are encouraged to look at other religions so we know more than just own way of thinking, so we can understand where others are coming from. Many Christians have chosen to follow other religions once they looked at them, but then for many like me, those religons only confirmed that what I know it true. It made the Lord all the more real and strengthend my faith.

@PaisleyPlace I'm not going to college b/c it's not what God has for my life. If I was not independent I would't have a boyfriend, I would cling to my parents my whole life which I'm not going to do. I work retail which requires I be very outgoing and think outside the box. I'm not afraid of losing my boyfriend, and though we are making plans they don't have to do with moving in with him. He is in Cal. at college and the plans we're making have to do with after he is done.

@PaisleyPlace Well, I know a lot about life because the Lord of all has taught me. I grew up in a church that was spiritualy ill so most of what I know was taught to me by the Lord Himself. And I do understand the world and other religions because I have asked the Lord for wisdom and understanding and He has given it to me. Assuming a witch will preform malevolent acts upon anyone who crosses her path, and as a result prevent said possibility is the same mindset of the Burning Times Massacre that swept over the new and old world nearly 200 years ago. Hitler had a similar thought closer to 100years ago. So according to pattern, it's about time for another genocide. I am not sure how you are okay with such actions. so, op, if that's your sister, mother, lover, friend, co worker, your child, or your child's friend/ lover, teacher of your child, neighbor, congregation member that you aren't aware is a witch whom you are suggesting to kill because you assume they may one day harm you with magick, I would like you to reconsider. If it is the fear of the unknown, I suggest you get a better idea by meeting with a few. Education is the best way to get an understanding.

@PaisleyPlace I have a college ed. There's a program here where you can take college credits while still in H.S. I have an AA. I have a future. I'm going be a writer and the path I plan will make money, not millions, but enough. My boyfriend isn't sleeping with me and giving us have kids when we can't be in the same state. HE is fine and decent, unlike you apparently. If we get married and he dies, then I will cross that path. But I have the Lord and I'm not worried. He will take care of me.

I do have faith in people, and think love, honesty, loyalty, and trust are important human character traits. Although some Christian people I've discussed my beliefs seem to think I don't believe in anything. My best wishes to you.

@garyconyers I'll check Amazon later to see if he has anything new. In any case, you are correct in that not believing in any god is not sufficient in classifying a particular system of belief. However, in the same way, believing that some god exists does not constitute a religion, either. Theism and atheism are starting points, not final destinations. Frankly, saying that one is an atheist means next to nothing.

I am well aware of the world of writers and the struggles it takes to get to the top. I am taking college to get a degree b/c without one in this world I don't have much of a chance of anything. @gflo6363 Also, Jesus builds on this by saying, in Mark 9:42 that "...If your hand causes you to sin, cut it off. It is better for you to enter life maimed than with two hands to go into hell." Does this mean you should cut off your hands? If need be, but it shouldn't come to that. I interpret this more as there being nothing more important in life than being sin free. What do you think about tolerance? How should a tolerant christian behave? Both are good questions.

Claiming to be an atheist is fine, but it's the "So what?" afterwards that really defines a worldview. From what I can gather from your comments, you strike me as a naturalist, one who does not believe in anything except for observable matter and energy. Naturalistic atheism is VERY different from Buddhism, agreed? That's what I meant.

@PaisleyPlace For your info, I have studied other religions and for me it comes down to this, First of all, to go to Heaven according to the Bible I don't have to do anything. I don't have to get it right before I come to Him. l I just have to tell the Lord I am sorry for sinning and thenafter I am accepted, make an effort w/ His help to live a life pleasing to Him. I shouldn't have to please Him you say? Well, He is God and He did die an awuful death so I could live so I owe it to Him.

not all Wiccans are pagans and vice versa. not all pagans or Wiccans are witches. witchcraft exists within every religion and culture. yes, Christian witchcraft exists because Christian Witches exist. same for Hindu, shamanic and Jewish. also, not all witches are religious. most are fairly spiritual. there are 45+ names in the history of all the human language for witches.

@PaisleyPlace The major desicion for me in choosing to believe the Bible was the fact that Jesus is the only One who conquered death. Mohamad is dead. Buhda is mass produced on some assembly line in China as are all the other idols. Allah is a skewed version of God. But the main piont is all the other gods out there are dead, or mythical like the Greek ones. Why would I serve a god who can't help me? Why not serve the One who had to power to rise from the dead?

People try to 'mystisize' the Bible by saying Christ was married and all that garbage. Second, to say I am using 'Christian terms' is to general. Tons of people that say they are Christians claim that name but are not. I am using the Bible-the rock solid word of God- to analyze other religions and that is the best way to view things since God is always right.

@ilovemymilitary An AA isn't a college education. You might be able to turn burgers with an AA but not get REAL job. Plus, you will NEVER get enough work as a freelance writer or any other type of writer with an AA. There is no way you received the education while in high school that would match what you receive at a REAL college. Get your BA degree & you might have half a chance. Again, it takes yrs of exp, contacts, & a hefty portfolio & even then you'll likely never make enough to pay bills

@LittleWhiteLy Religion is simply something you believe. It is a set of standards by which you set morals whether is be according to Hinduism, Atheism, or Christianity. My statement about pagan religions comes from the Bible. If you choose to argue and disagree you are really doing so w/God. In the Bible, God destroyed nations that were pagan and punished the Israelites for turning to false gods. Modern day proof? Haiti said years ago Satan was their leader and look at their history since.
