So, my boyfriend is incredible in so many ways, I love him so dearly and I'm lucky to have the guy. He's competent in most aspects of our relationship/life together. But the man has the mental stamina of a newborn calf when it comes to cleaning, organizing or maintaining order. I used to call out what I thought was his bluff and say I knew it was some sort of weaponized incompetence, but I quickly came to realize it is truly a struggle of his lol. He is gradually improving. It is a slow and painful process. I swear so many men are still being raised basically impaired when it comes to basic household tasks, chores, errands, etc. It's wild.

Oh yes! My mom would tell me stories bout when her & my dad first got married and moved together around 25yrs old. He would leave messes everywhere, socks everywhere. Drove my mom crazy. My father got it together over the years 😂 but it’s definitely a learning curve. I was the same with my ex partner, it took 3 years of us living together for me to clean properly. My chores growing up was cleaning my room, the bathroom, and some times yard work for extra allowance. I can generally tell when it's unintentional, or if he's trying to be quick about it or doesn't put in much effort. I feel you, I'm also someone who has struggled with completing tasks or even mustering up the courage to get up and do said tasks. I used to struggle a lot more with keeping a space organized when I was younger. I'm 28 with a 4 year old now, so for me personally, my life experience and having a child has forced me to cope with my brain or overcome its obstacles when it comes to caring for the house. So I'm extremely empathetic with him. He is the main provider in the house, so I do 95% of the household chores, cleanup, cooking, etc. But when I just finished cleaning the bedroom and he tears through his drawers and closet without remembering to pick it up afterward, those are the kinds of slow and painful improvement processes I'm referring to lol. I may have jokingly said it was weaponized incompetence when he attempts to clean the kitchen and it's simply smeared condiments and crumbs left behind lol. I assure you he is never ridiculed.

(This is long, very sorry). I’m not a fan of Nick (I used to be), but I just randomly saw his apology video and was curious to see what he was doing to change. I must say, the worst part of any apology video is always the comments (in my opinion). I found myself a bit confused on people's reactions and reasoning for still dismissing these videos he has made, but that’s not really what I’m confused (and a bit upset) about. I’m not here to defend him, and it’s not really the viewer's apology to accept (besides the part where he made garbage content to make money off of us). I feel like the only people that should be accepting his apology are the people he personally wronged (and even named in the video). Again, not my point but still something to point out. I want to know, and I am genuinely asking, what do people want him to do? I’ve seen so many people in these comments saying things like “He thinks we forgot the things he did” and things like that, which are obviously really bad, but what do people want him to do besides trying to improve his content? Whether the apology was good or not doesn’t really matter in this discussion, I just don’t understand what people want him to do. Do you want him to mope about it? Make every one of his videos an apology video? Do you want him to constantly talk about how much he regretted it? Wouldn’t people just turn around and say, “he’s just talking about it so much to make himself look better!”? I genuinely want to know. And no, I want an answer besides charity. Yes, it’s a great way to give back to the community for the harm you caused, but it isn’t the defining thing that makes you a better person. If Jake Paul suddenly donated a billion dollars to charity, does that make him as holy as Jesus? I don’t think so. I’m trying to stay neutral on the matter both because I don’t know about all the harm he caused, but also because that’s not my intentions with this comment.
