How well I remember a machine like this. I was about 8/9 years old when my dad ran one of these in the late 40’s. He was using it to load a dump truck, and road in his lap. Haven’t seen one in years. GREAT VIDEO

We had a machine here in New Zealand built by CWF Hamilton in Christchurch NZ they were built for International Harvester crawlers TD6s and TD 9s and called a loader /dozer a bucket or a blade could be fitted they were front mounted and loaded over the rear of the machine they were highly efficient machines and large numbers were built I was looking at one last Saturday actually Hamilton's were a very large engineering company and built all the components in house all the hydraulic components pumps hydraulic rams spool valves etc very well built reliable units

That thing is sooo odd Frank! 😂 The right operator could still get quite a bit done with one though. Thanks for sharing 🔧🔩

First time I've seen one that backs into a pile of dirt. Very cool!

Well that's certainly a thing that exists. Overshot loaders are still around in underground mining but the operator stands along the side of those machines.

There is supposed to be a sort of spout at the top of the bucket, which carries the material past the front of the roof and into a truck. There are a few pix on google images. This may or may not be the one that was at Brownsville in 2017, which was also missing the spout. It's a tough life without it.

Bob probably had it there too.

I could only imagine what your neck would feel like after a day of operating this machine, I know how my neck feels using a 3-point blade on a tractor for a few hours. It looks like it throws the dirt during the dumping process so as to hit the center of a truck it's loading.
