Built in Lima, Ohio at the Lima locomotive works facility. This facility built nearly all of the steam locomotive engines used in the US, beginning in the late 1800’s. These units were made after the locomotive works were shut down with the transition to diesel engines. The same facility built the first Sherman tanks in WW2. They still build all of the US military M1, M1A1, M1A2 Abrams tanks in Lima at a different plant. Eventually, Clark Equipment made these in the same plant under license. Clark eventually merged with Bobcat in Fargo, ND, which is now part of Doosan from S. Korea.

Excellent info. Unfortunately, BLH used very complicated pneumatic controls in their locomoives causing numerous breakdowns which were hard to diagnose causing most railroads to shun them.

Frank, I went to the Seam-O-Rama show today, 10-6, to see your LIMA run, but you were in N.J. Great work & video! Excellent that you got it running & working! It appears (in the video) to me that the Lima 604 undercarriage & house is close in size to that of a Bucyrus-Erie 22-B shovel, but the 604's boom, stick & bucket seem larger than that of a 22-B, but idk, maybe the apparent size is only as it appears in the video.
