Good thing there was a 'WIDE LOAD' sign on the bumper. I'm not sure anyone would've noticed without it.

"If it will fit on the road, we can haul the load!" _Careful_ surveying is required of every foot of the route, with things like road size, turning radius, and overpasses factored in. There are specialist outfits getting paid big bucks because they _can_ do this.

Hello perthmcaleese, one hell of a load there! I am absolutely fascinated by the moving of huge loads and mining machine from the broken down state, that is dissembled, and how it gets to and is used the other end. Often Mining Machines have nothing to judge their size when 'at work' in the usual off road Mine, but seeing them and loads like this 'out-of-context' and one can see just how gigantic they are. Hey, Take care and many thanks for the upload OK? mrbluenun

In 2008 about 30 000 Euro were stolen from my acount. The tax bureau Pforzheim / Neuenbürg, Germany, accepted this money as the property of the thief, without even demanding an income or gift tax. My complaints were ignored claiming fiscal secret. I am aware of large scale tax fraud in the area of Pforzheim. With my experience how German tax bureaus handle stolen property, I believe that this was done in collaboration with the tax bureau Pforzheim as well. In exchange for certain "services".

Regardless of how obvious the size of the load, the signs and strobes always have to be there. For something of this size, a police escort leads the forward pilot vehicle. It's not so much "make room for it to pass," more like "GET OFF THE ROAD!" I work as a longhaul driver, and a convoy of loads like this can really mess with your day if you're in a hurry. To their credit the pilots do their best to keep the disruption to a minimum.
@mrbluenun12 жыл бұрын
Just wondering, I am assuming this is the 'bare-bones' of a Bucket-Wheel-Earth-Mover which includes part of the conveyer bet, is that right?
@perthmcaleese12 жыл бұрын
. Its not cheap, but this was just the move from the build yard to the port. This weekend we move it from the laydown to the vessel side and then it will shipped to port hedland in the north west of Western Australia. Then we take if off the boat and carry it 500km inland to the mine site. But all this transport is a lot cheaper and easier to do this than trying to make it on site.

@Mechknight7312 жыл бұрын
That's the "final warning;" with something this big, first you see a police car with its lights flashing. Then you see a pilot vehicle with its orange lights flashing. Behind the load is another pilot vehicle. Unfortunately some city drivers just can't take a hint

Lots of engineering drawings and calculations for the final weights. 2 days to load and then its all over in one day. The drivers are long timers with many years experience starting with small over size loads and moving you to this type of cargo
