ACC is at the end of the road, there arent many more DLCs to expect. We still have no roadmap, as therepossibly is no road ahead…ptretty sure that ACC will be integrated in AC2 next year, and new developments will go into there.

heres my thoughts, i would LOVE to see Nords come to ACC. if the amount of work required means it has to be a £25 dlc then here take my money. Nords coming to ACC would be one of gamings biggest mind blown mic drop moments and would take ACC into historic gaming folklore and im sure it would be used by every league that races on ACC. Can you imagine an 80 car LFM Pro race with the whos-who of sim racing battling it out, it would be amazing. also, 1- if theyre scanning and developing Nords for AC2 anyway which costs money, wouldnt it be beneficial to release it on ACC to create more revenue for the same amount of work? 2- They already have the Fanatec arena that travels to every SRO event for the esport event to run parallel with the irl event, so if they release Nords on ACC they could have the worlds biggest live racing sim esports event to run alongside the main 24 hour live event. all the pieces are falling into place now, come on Kunos release Nords with the last GT2 dlc pack and take ACC into the stratosphere.

I approve of your take. Nords is a very hard track to learn and race on. But, thats exactly why it needs to be done. I'd expect it to not come to ACC, but come to AC2. An "endurance",and "competition" menus in AC2

There’s also the common fallacy that people think that a developer can’t do two things at a time. Kunos isn’t a big developer by any means, but they do have staff that they like to keep employed, and what better way to continue to keep them busy by working on a Nords release for ACC and AC2?

Zandvoort is literally a port from AC. It's the only non-laser-scanned track in ACC because Kunos said they were so happy with the AC version, depsite not being LS, that they decided to just use it again.

The best argument for Nordschleife in ACC is that you want to have the track next year in AC2 at release anyway and need too upgrade it from the AC Version. Might as well do the work now and double dip on your work.

100% would want the Nordschleife in ACC, it fits the competitive racing for the longer races like LFM is has 45mins at Spa, its an iconic track that would fun to drive in lobbies kinda a touristenfahrten style with gt3/gt4 cars and if they making it for ACC now, in a year or 2 time when AC2 might released they captured the data that they need or the vast majority of it They can sell it as a $15 track and people would buy it. The only downside is that they arent making it for AC2 on release which itself is kinda a shitty, putting one of the most popular tracks behind a dlc paywall

Kunos simply might not have the resources to put whole track making team to work on 1 track when they could do 3 tracks in the time of making the one (they could sell it for the same price they sell track packs tho, but maybe they are not sure how the community will react to that) so I think the answer is money, on the other hand they might have problems with optimisation on UE4, making nords might require creating new tools to cut the terrain not sure if other tracks are made this way but this is also possible. the track itself is not difficult to do from 3d artist point of view but it's rather a technical challenge if their workflow and used tools were designed for smaller tracks. I fully understand they won't just copy the meshes from AC it would take time to prepare materials as AC had Spec/Gloss shaders and ACC uses PBR, UV remapping would take a lot of time as well especially for grass so it's not just porting it and it will look the same as in AC or better. I'm guessing they wanted to do all smaller tracks to sell them and then use more time to recreate Nords so the content flows and there's no big update gaps.

Their first point is a bit wrong. Kunos already has the track laser scanned and they can use the data they have to put the track into ACC. So this person doesnt use the Nordschliefe and they're assuming nobody else will 😂. If the track in in a racing game or Sim you can be damn sure I will drive the crap out of the track. From what i'm thinking, they already had plans for Nords to be one of the first tracks for AC2, from them saying that Nords will for sure be in the next titel, could make me think they already got a new laserscan done. So them adding this to ACC and AC2 would just make sense to me. Also as you said, game devs take assest ALL the time from previous games, just look at the new Counter strike 2 game, it still got stuff from back in CS:S, 20 year old assest, but because they are updated in lighting and more, its hard time see it times.

Kunos should put the Nordschleife in ACC...and then put ACC in maintenance mode, and put all their efforts into developing Assetto Corsa 2 on their own in-house engine. Through upgrading the engine for OG Assetto Corsa with modern rendering techniques and focus on creating a fully-featured ranking system, safety rating, and multiplayer infrastructure for Assetto Corsa 2.

GT2s are the last confirmed piece of content and when it was announced last year they said it could be the last DLC for ACC. But ultimately we don't know anything about the future of ACC, or anything about their next title. So we will just have to wait and see.

As far as I understand (and that may not be much, arguably), SRO's interest in sim-racing is a marketing exercise. So they have a vested interest in getting eye-balls on their newest event. So there may be a deal to be made there for Kunos. And since I cannot imagine that AC2 won't have the NS, that would also offset Kunos' costs down the line... Maybe. what do I know? I'm just some degenerate sim-racer.

Would I race at Nordschleife in ACC? Pity the fool who says no. But this made me wonder: how do game devs go about getting a laser-scanned version of any track? Do the tracks have companies that do the scans and then the track turns around and sells this scan to any devs who pay for it? Or does somebody like Kunos have to do it all from scratch, rent the track, hire a laser-scanning company on their own? It would make more sense that laser-scanned versions are made regularly and kept on file for anyone who wishes to buy a copy.

1) Stop calling them "KUNOS", Kunos has left and it is "Kunos Simulazioni" 2) You both are wrong. Other (RD) with laughable "too big/heavy for ACC" as well. Kunos Simulazioni is busy with AC2, including making as many tracks as they can for the release. So, fresh scan of GreenHell can be useful, but only after they got resources to create it for ACC on UE4. So, MAYBE later, just to get some cash out of it - NS will be there in ACC.
