That is the most disgustingly bad ejection call I’ve seen in several seasons. It’s way worse, because this wasn’t a spur of the moment thing. The official did it at the timekeeper’s table, with the replay screen, and all the time in the world, with no pressure, and he still made that embarrassing, bafflingly terrible call. Forget ever calling a big time Top Ten NCAA game again…this official should never get a job working a junior high girls game. Those girls would deserve better.

I have no horse in this race so no bias here. That is the worst call I have ever seen in my life. Those refs need to take a basic anatomy course. To stabilize the body to make a pass in the air, you have to engage the abs and hip flexers. You do that, the legs will come forward. Those refs deserve some form of discipline after a horrible call like that.

I can see how you could interpret what I said as such. I did not feel like typing out an explanation involving individual muscles and joints and describing a net force diagram showing why the leg coming forward was completely natural, on my phone. I was simply stating that the leg coming forward on that particular play was a completely natural part of the play he made. He went from driving toward the basket from the left to jumping and twisting to his right to throw a pass, mid-air, to someone near the top of the key. As a product of the kinetic chain (the fact that any movement in the body affects and is affected by other parts of the body) it would be practically impossible to jump and twist and throw without causing one leg to come forward more than the other. It also seems very unlikely that in a situation where a twisting jump pass is his only option to avoid a turnover, he had the mental bandwidth to aim and execute a kick. If you believe what you are saying, that is fine. As I said, you are entitled to your opinion. I just disagree. If, on the other hand, you are just trolling, then thank you for the opportunity to more deeply consider the biomechanics of the play because doing so made me even more confident that it was completely accidental.

Grant McCasland is Texas Tech next GUY IN THE CHAIR for a long time after this game. Man has came in, built an identity from the jump, he's getting talent that wants to be there, and when a coach has one of these games man it can do a lot for a program. This was a 7-2 squad going to play a top 10 team on the road and had their leading scorer and Head Coach poached from the game in the first 5 minutes and STILL WON THE GAME. Talk about a coach inspiring his guys to ride to the level of their training, awesome win for the Red Raiders, love this program, SURVIVORS.

I am never going to trust Houston until they get more than 2 people who can shoot. Take away LJ Cryer and Emmaneul Sharp, and they are an unimpressive team. A lot of times they win because the refs allow them to be physical because their frontcourt is undersized. The refs are destroying not just college basketball but all sports and it just keeps getting worse and worse every year. The worst part is when there's like contact above the shoulder where a player just simply makes accidental contact with another player above the shoulder like on the head because of extra momentum or something and the refs want to stop the game and go review it 50 times like they can't tell what is intentional and what is accidental contact. We need to change the rules and go back to how the game used to be called and when you didn't have all these reviews for the smallest amount of contact at all between players.
