Juan Nunez is TOO GOOD for a 16 yr old!! We filmed Juan all year while he played for Real Madrid U18, and he was going off!
Juan is an amazing floor general and always finds his teammate when they're open. He has a solid 3 pt shot and possesses lots of different finishing moves in the lane. He's a lefty but he can finish with either hand.
Juan is one of the best pure point guards in the WORLD, and I think he has a shot at making the NBA in a few years. A lot of people compare him to Ricky Rubio, but I want YOU to drop player comparisons in the comments!
All love from OT.

@GoZags43
@GoZags43 Жыл бұрын
The problem with any Luka comparison is that Juan is 6’3. Luka’s size is what truly separates him as a lead ball handler/offensive centerpiece. He’s the best ball handler in league history at 6’8 or better (Magic/Lebron are close 2nds in my eyes). That size allows Luka to dominate in all aspects offensively and have access to passing angles that someone like Juan simply can’t see. As far as polish at a young age? Juan is definitely up there with Luka and Rubio. Rubio is a good comp because they both have ELITE passing vision/ability at an incredibly young age, but both also struggle(d) as outside shooters to some degree. Rubio has developed a solid outside shot, so hopefully Juan can as well, but for now that just isn’t a real strength of Juan’s. I feel like Juan has another level to access athletically once he sheds some excess weight and gets in an NBA weight training program. I can’t see Juan being a star in the NBA due to his shooting/size/athleticism, but he should definitely be a winning player who either starts alongside really good scorers or comes off the bench to lead second units. Hopefully I’m wrong about his ceiling though because I love him as a player.

He made the french team coaches cry when he killed them in the European u16 championship. The french team was their tallest ever and clearly more athletic and physical, but this Juan kid toyed with them. He's ooze basketball and was clearly very well coached growing up in Spain. Unlike in France where they don't teach fundamentals and rely on the size and athleticism of black kids.
@emmanuelbarrier866
@emmanuelbarrier866 3 жыл бұрын
French coaches do teach young players the fundamentals. Having black kids in French young teams doesn't mean they are not taught the fundamentals wtf. If Spain won that game it's just because they played better that's it.
@nks3ak263
@nks3ak263 3 жыл бұрын
@@emmanuelbarrier866 Spain been whooping France for years in basketball in seniors where it matters most because they put out complete and intelligent basketball players, not only low iq athletes. As for fundamentals, where was the last crop of French elite shooters? A simple zone defense has them panicking all the way up to the seniors. The best French prospect in this year's draft, Killian Hayes from one of the best basketball academy in France cholet, is a lefty with a weak right hand entering the freaking NBA at 19. That means that even in one of the best academies in France, no coach cared to teach him to be ambidextrous as long as he was killing everybody growing up with his strong left hand. French coaches care about wins, so they coach size and athleticism, not fundamentals. That's why when their u16 played against this Juan kid's Spanish team they were gloating about having the tallest and athletic team to beat Spain, not the most high iq or fundamental team. They taught that because their black kids had their heads above the rim, it would be an easy win. Spanish basketball iq and talent prevailed.
@emmanuelbarrier866
@emmanuelbarrier866 3 жыл бұрын
@@nks3ak263 Spain had better results than France over last 2 decades because they play better. They play better team basketball, and better IQ basketball that is true. But saying that French basketball only relies on athletism is just not true. Also, French coaches and players know pretty much how great Spain is at this game since they've been kicking their ass at almost each international competition so they are not likely to underestimate them and think they'll win juste because they're athletic and stuff like you said they did in this U16 game . They respect Spanish basketball. And France does have great shooters and players with great basketball IQ, ever heard of some guy named Nando De Colo ?

Niko Mirotic, Sergio Llull, Luka Doncic, Facu Campazzo...Pablo Laso knows about improve the youngsters. Give him three more years, and we'll see Juan Nuñez playing Euroleague.
