Ax5 was used behind 4cyls. Before 1989 I believe they used ba10 5spd, behind the 4.0l. after that they used the ax15 behind the 4.0.

Definitely needs a blower. Go with the more aggressive rock sliders, if it was just for looks go low profile/clean but you need functionality. Sweet jeep tho

I've always ran the JCR classic sliders they offer great protection but getting in and our of the jeep becomes a pain(specially when muddy) . If you ONLY wheel the jeep I'd without a doubt go for them. I currently run the MoabOutfitters low profile sliders and really like them, very strong and clean look. Awesome build!!

7:15 The bolt pattern on those wheels is "5 on 5" same as "5 on 127". 5 on 5 1/2 is older Jeeps like the CJs or Ford F150s. 👍✌️

@@thecountryboivlogger2335 - All XJs are 5 on 4.5 but he has 17 inch wheels with a Jeep JK bolt pattern running adapters so they fit. I have a '94 XJ with adapters to run the same 5 on 5 like he does. **Hope that makes sense.

early XJs with a v6 had a lot of weird trans combos. also later in the 2000s xjs you could get a nv3550

Man I don’t know how you all pay for this stuff. Lol. My one ton axle swap killed me and never built bumpers or sliders. 4g turned into 10 really fast. Trans, t case, head, sensors, water pump, heater core, two trans coolers, aluminum rad, custom 14” shrouded electric fan and stock electric fan works great. Never ending projects I’ll say.

Jake Erickson it’s everywhere. It pulls like a freight train right off idle. It’s positive displacement so no lag. Living in Colorado it makes it so I can do 70mph over mountain passes with ease.

Those window switches and lock switches are easy to fix if they start to bug out. I prefer to resolder the innerds rather than replace with cheap china replacement parts. (I drive a 00 XJ). Great build overall, super clean.

@@JustinTBraun the through hole solder style used on older electronics gets brittle and can crack, causing an open circuit (can be intermittent or never works(corrosion in the cracked joint)) . EZPZ fix to just put some flux on the solder joints and reheat them to make the solder melt (or use a wick to remove old solder and use that good good kester 63/37). I have fixed at least 20 of them (also to note, power locks are controlled by passenger side and windows are controlled by driver side). Also, I vote supercharger... nobody wants turbo lag on rocks.

I’m gonna correct you on trans, only the 4 cyl Jeep’s got the ax5, 87-90 4.0s got either aw4 auto or Peugeot BA-10 5 speed, 90-up got aw4 auto or ax15 5 speed

What is it about the terrain out west that people just love them damn Patagonias. Out here on the East Coast people hate them. I have 4.88 gears also in my tj with 35’s. It had 38-15.5 on 15-10 I got 17-20 mpg. Now bout 12-16. That sucks.

It has a 94 Cherokee 4.0 H O manual ax-15 and I think o2sensor is bad and a spark plug maybe messed up too. So would all of that play with gas mileage? And it’s my daily driver. A lot of questions about this rig. Thanks for the input. Great videos helpful information.

Yeah everything's new underneath as far as rubber/bushings and joints I'm going to have the alignment checked but it will track straight until I hit any road imperfections then I have to wrestle it back to center also no death wobble 0-75 it literally feels like I'm constantly hitting patches of ice pulling me left and right

Couple things first awsome jeep. I would NOT blower this or bla bla seriously do it right get that thing stroked out say 4.7L 285HP over 300ft lbs of torque will be loads better then doing a dumb LS or something it's way to involved to do that everyone says oh it's easy swap NO it is not I've had 8 jeep cherokees it is not and he will LOVE if he strikes that inline six out ups the fuel injectors lbs per hour 26 I suggest all sorts of options on those opens that throttle body a little and maybe a nice banks header if he really wants to make it a beast and that's done. Last thing is nice choice on the IRO stiffener mid section I highly suggest finishing the job with IRO front and rear stiffener and T&M fab offers the front and rear pillar tie ins to make it fully boxed in I did mine full IRO kit and T&M fab piece's and its amazing totally different rig now feels SOLID if he doesn't do the front and rear and he does serious offroading he will tweak that unibody especially winching, pulling people and being pulled out will tweak that thing out and he will be pissed I would tell him if he has the welding skills or knows a real good one to finish that edge lip of the mid section to the floor pan yes it's hard but it REALLY makes that stiffener way tighter and a LOT more solid, all just my 2cents as I literally just did all this this last spring summer on my huge build. Very nice Jeep he has there props.👍
