So if one uses PyMAPDL does one need MAPDL? I am at the stage where I need a scripting language to run Mechanical and I'd be very happy to use Python which is becoming a universal language. Is there a proper reference manual for PyMAPDL?

pymapdl is such a pain, for those who come from a full cae gui background, specially those who have no coding background. its a nightmare to start learning coding while getting challenged by the steep learning curve. ansys mechanical gui is simple, fast and quick at getting results with some post simulation tweaks. for now i would continue using mapdl.

I appreciate the info provided by Ansys learning about PyMAPDL. I have an issue with running all the cells at once. I get the following exception "Exception: Import from 'geomdl' failed, to support this feature please install pyiges[full]" and I am unable to see the plots and results. I installed pyiges[full] but still it gives me this error. I believe this may be attributed to the fact that I have the version Ansys Mechanical 2022 R1 and also Ansys mapdl version 0.65.0. I managed somehow to switch the instance to 21.2 but still getting the same type of error. Is it possible that this is caused by not running on 21.1?

hello. I'm new to this 3D modelling and simulatin.. I installed the ansys and PYmapdl along with pythni my pc. but I'm unable to launch these things and getting these two errors. Unable to connect to MAPDL gRPC instance at 127.0.0.1:50054.. and while trying to launch this -grpc.. I'm getting "forrtl : severe(90): permission to access file denied, unit 6" help me in solving this issue and learning the tool peacefully
