Thank you Ian! Glad you enjoyed it. As a sneak peak, there will be a similar video released next week on Line 2 (pre-closure).

There are two main problems with the St. Laurent station: 1. The fare gates are on the lower level, which means you must choose your direction of travel before passing through them. If you accidentally go through the wrong fare gate you must wait five minutes before you can go through the other. 2. The elevators are rather small, which makes them awkward or unusable for those in wheelchairs or with extra items such as strollers or luggage.

Good points. Very true about switching platforms and needing to exit and re-enter through the fare gates. The only stations that will be like this on Line 1/3. Although Carleton Station previously and still will, have a similar setup. The newer elevators off to the side have more space but the old legacy elevators are really small and tight. I remember using our child's stroller and managing to fit inside the old legacy elevators, the front wheels were touching the other door with my back pressed against the back door. As suggested in the video, limitations of the carry over from the old station elements that were maintained, which creates these unfortunate low points for the station and how people can use it.

@@RailFansCanada The elevator issue is a serious fault - exclusionary and ableist. Very sad.

Great video! But I'd say Rideau Station is by far busier than Parliament station, especially after the Pandemic

Hurdman station has the big problem of randomly requiring a 400 m sprint to catch your bus
